This unique new series Wind Breaker tells the story of Delinquents.
Delinquent, socially deprived population, whom society views as an entirely different being from a regular person.
Being such a person in no way can be rewarding or even relieving for any individual.
There are some people, whose appearance or behavior is mistakenly assumed to the delinquent which makes them the target of discrimination.
The first episode of Wind Breaker introduces such people but from a different perspective.
Protagonist
The protagonist in Wind Breaker, Sakura Haruka, was an assumed delinquent since his childhood, for his appearance.
He has a strikingly odd appearance. His hair is half white and he has dichromatic eyes.
Assumptions of society forced him to become a real delinquent later.
He is the first misunderstood delinquent in the series Wind Breaker.
His delinquent life, made him strive for the top in strength and he hated the weak who pretended to be strong by degrading others.
Sick and tired of his surroundings, Haruka moves out of his town and to the Tonpu town to enter in delinquent’s school Furin in the hope of reaching the top in strength, where the story takes place.
Beginning
The story of the first episode of Wind Breaker opens as Haruka wakes up from a nightmare, and goes out on town street for a walk in his new school uniform.
He encountered a scene where a group of boys were harassing a woman, which he obstructed with the fist.
That woman later offered him a thank you treat.
She was Tachibana Kotoha, owner of Cafe Pothos. She was once an outsider to the town, but now is a full-fledged town person.
From her, he heard a little bit history of the town.
That town was previously infested with gang war.
Previously, ill-treated, Haruka was somewhat surprised to receive such good treatment from Kotoha.
In the store, he helped an old man, who was out of his character, and received candies as a gift.
That behavior was also unusual for him.
But when he disclosed his ambition of taking the top of the school in strength, Kotoha burst his bubble, by saying that is impossible by strength alone as long he is alone.
Wind Breaker
While Haruka was deep in his thoughts, the previous gang of boys came back in search of Haruka with a larger group and started rampaging around.
He had to fight with them reluctantly.
As he was blowing them away left and right, curious Kotoha was taken hostage by knife.
After somehow saving her, he becomes wounded by the same knife and is unable to continue the fight.
He was almost getting hit, at the very moment he was saved by another Furin student, Hiragi.
With him came three others,
Kaji,
After their arrival, they very swiftly took care of the situation.
Haruka was dumbfounded, as the very Furin he was planning on reigning was helping him unconditionally.
Then Kotoha revealed the fact, that the current orderly town is mainly maintained by the tireless effort of the delinquents of the Furin high school. They are known as “Bofurin” or “Wind Breaker” as named by the town’s people.
Realization
The entire situation was very different from the conditions of delinquent Haruka known from his childhood. To him, delinquents are harbingers of chaos in society, but in this town, they are more like local heroes.
The coolness of this incident sparked passion in his heart.
Conclusion
The entire first episode starts the story of an outcast, shunned by society, on his way to becoming a hero whom everyone admires.
In its entirety, this episode is totally unmissable as this story could head in an unexpected direction.
