In this exclusive and powerful 5th episode a distinct difference in ideology and their implementation is present.
As two different teams with different ideology clashes together it becomes a battle of who’s ideology will be stronger and who’s ideology will prevail.
Let’s dive into the episode right away to learn more about the given situation.
Previously…
In the previous episode, protagonist Sakura Haruka met a representative of Furin High School and the leader of Bofurin Umemiya Hajime face-to-face for the first time.
The reason was he had started a fight with Bofurin’s rival gang Shishitoren.
Sakura Haruka and his classmate Sugishita Kyotaro had beaten a member of Shishitoren.
They did so by trying to protect a middle school student from their locality being chased around by members of Shishitoren.
The middle schooler named Sasaki inspired by Bofurin tried to uphold justice by chasing a convenience store mugger and mistakenly went into Shishitoren’s turf.
This started the whole ordeal.
Chaos
In 5th episode, as Umemiya was relieving Sasaki from his worry, the leader of Shishitoren, Tomiyama Choji broke into Furin High, beating nearby students.
Tomiyama challenged Umemiya to a one-on-one fight.
Facing him, Umemiya asked him to call off the fight as Tomiyama had already done enough damage, so they were even.
Tomiyama kept on denying it.
Proposal
Something unpreceded happened this time in the 5th episode.
At that time Togame Jo, the second-in-command came with the team and proposed a one-on-one team battle at a later date, which Umemiya had to accept due to peer pressure.
There was a bet, that if Umemiya lost to Tomiyama then Bofurin would fall under the clutches of Shishitoren.
Members, who were to fight from Bofurin’s side were Sakura, Sugishita, Suo, Umemiya, and Hiragi.
Next comes, the day of battle. Team Umemiya made their way inside the Shishitoren’s turf.
After…
As the story progressed in 5th episode, team Umemiya went inside Shishitoren’s turf, where Tomiyama Choji was standing with his team at the entrance in welcome.
Tomiyama was very excited about the one-on-one battle with Umemiya.
So, not wasting any time they made their way to the location of the fight.
On their way, they noticed the turf of Shishitoren and its alleys only consist of pubs.
Turf
A brief description of Shishitoren’s turf was given in the 5th episode.
According to Nirei, who came with them to observe, this place, which belongs to Shishitoren, is one of the largest pub districts.
The scenery around them made them slow but they had to pick up the pace as Tomiyama couldn’t wait any longer.
Finally, they reached a shutdown movie theatre named Orion, now the name changed to Ori means cage.
The Second-in-command of Shishitoren Togame Jo welcomed them to the lair of Shishitoren.
Upon entering, they faced an extremely excited and rude audience.
According to Suo, it was like a cage of wild animals.
An event in Wind Breaker 5th episode
The main event started at this point in the 5th episode.
Tomiyama made the situation like a festivity at a moment’s notice by taking the stage and announcing the start of the one-on-one battle.
Umemiya assured others, that the main factor in winning was the one-on-one match between him and Tomiyama so they didn’t have to stress themselves with the result of their one-on-one fights.
Sakura replied he wouldn’t settle for a loss.
The battle begins
Tomiyama was about to start his fight with Umemiya, but Sugishita’s predetermined opponent Arima Yukinari volunteered to fight Sugishita first.
According to Nirei, Arima is a power-type fighter. He once broke several ribs of someone in a single strike.
Suo said not to worry as Sugishita was of the same kind. Umemiya also felt sorry for the other guy who is facing Sugishita.
First fight
As soon as the fight starts, Arima bluffs about Umemiya’s danger, and Sugishita being Umemiya’s worshipper gets distracted.
Taking this chance, Arima planted a punch on Sugishita’s face.
His punch had very little effect as Sugishita soon grabbed him and slammed him down on the stage harder than ever because he forgot to mention the honorific to Umemiya’s name.
The crowd became silent as Sugishita won.
Beliefs
Tomiyama asked his teammates to drag the unconscious Arima off the stage.
Arima was heavy, so they just tossed him like some garbage outside of the stage.
This behavior ticked Sakura off, so he told them not to call themselves “Absolutely devotees of power” and Suo further added that they only understand the communication of the fist.
As they grabbed Suo by the collar, Tomiyama ordered them to back off.
Tomiyama showed immense interest in fighting Sugishita which Togame somehow suppresseded.
The belief of Shishitoren is shown at this point in the 5th episode.
Continuation
The time to start the next fight came, and Suo volunteered.
Before starting he told Sakura that, at first his taking the top of the Furin high seemed an empty dream to him. Now Sakira’s dream seems credible to him and they made Sakura cool.
He decides not to lose to Sakura, so he will try hard.
His opponent was Kauma, unlike other members of Shishitoren, he was close to Arima and was furious about his loss.
As soon as he went on the stage, a roaring crowd told him to win by blowing Suo away.
Suo
At that time Sakura asked Nirei about Suo and what kind of person is he.
According to Nirei, he was famous for being strong from his middle school days but there is no specific record of against whom he won.
According to Umemiya, he is a kind gentleman.
But somehow Sakura’s instinct told Umemiya was wrong.
Second fight
The second fight started and Suo taunted Kanuma asking if he was suffering, in answer Kanuma told Arima was like his brother.
According to Suo who doesn’t understand others’ pain and only shouts out in their pain is an overgrown child.
This enraged Kanuma and he rushed to attack, but Suo easily parried off.
From then on no matter how much Kanuma attacked, he dodged all of them and tripped Kanuma on the ground at every chance he got.
Suo toyed with him like this for some time. He showed the power gap between them.
He made him imagine the outcome of him being cast aside by the team like Arima was.
Curses also started to rain down from the crowd directing Kanuma.
Suo according to Sakura
Sakura understood the true nature of Suo.
He was an extremely sadistic person, not kind at all.
By showing the evident gap in strength between him and Kanuma he kept on tormenting him.
By doing this, he created a hopeless situation of not being able to cross the gap of skill between them ever for Kanuma.
Sakura even said that, if he were his opponent he would feel like dying though he would handle the situation with his skill.
Result…
Togame told Suo to come down from the stage and excommunicated Kanuma from the team, but this exclusive and powerful 5th episode closed its curtain with Suo’s gentlemanly suggestion to Kanuma, that to grow up, one needs to understand others’ pain.
Three more fights have remained, so stay tuned for the next episode….
