Hero, the word sounds so glamorous and awe-inspiring. It’s a word that brings hope to the oppressed and strikes fear in the hearts of the villains. The word Hero is somewhat synonymous with a brave one, who sacrifices a great deal for another’s good. This action of ultimate sacrifice is most important in the best yet My Hero Academia episode 2 of season 7.
To know the details of the actions taken to prove heroism in this episode, we need to delve deeper into the story.
Previously…
Previously, after releasing the villainous inmates with quirks, from prison, All-for-One was scheming in a secluded location.
The scheme was to mobilize all the villains around the world, that are known to him.
In the process, other nations will become vigilant and start dealing with and helping one another with helps by stationing their heroes in other countries.
He planned to take the quirks of those heroes who would come to Japan, for himself, to become more powerful.
On the other hand, All-Might requested help from America’s strongest female Hero “Star and Stripe”, who is a devotee of him.
Star and Stripe came to Japan with her air squad only to find Shigaraki Tomura, the strongest villain in all of Japan after All-for-One, was waiting for her.
Both of them had a heated battle started, where Star and Stripe managed to suppress Tomura for a short time with the help of Hyper-Max Output laser Keraunos.
Next…
In the best yet My Hero Academia episode 2 of season 7, “Star and Stripe” was successful in suppressing Shigaraki Tomura with the help of Hyper-Max Output laser Keraunos temporarily.
This attack wasn’t going to obliterate Tomura, as he had the quirk of regeneration.
Her ace in the hole was the State-of-the-Art Hypersonic Intercontinental Cruise Missile, “Tiamat”.
But her quirk ” New Order” had some limitations.
To use “Tiamat”, she had to move her hand for a moment away from the laser and grab ” Tiamat”.
In the meantime, Tomura could escape or attack her.
New Order
New Order is the quirk of the Star and Stripe or Cathleen Bate.
If the owner of the quirk touches anything even less seemingly tangible things like air and light, he/she can set a new rule to that which it will follow as stated in the best yet My Hero Academia episode 2 of season 7.
The owner of this quirk even can name an object or a person and set rules on them.
But, there are some limitations to this quirk.
It can’t increase the power output of once applied rule or the object to which the owner apply the rule.
The owner can only use this quirk twice at a time.
Cathleen used to apply one turn of it all the time to boost her strength.
Another turn she used freely.
All those above details are in the best yet My Hero Academia episode 2 of season 7.
Continuation
Cathleen took the risk and let the laser go to grab “Tiamat” missiles.
After getting released from the laser Tomura rushed forward but was stopped by the laser attack of the fighter planes accompanying Star and Stripe.
Taking this chance Ms Star smashed those missiles on already wounded Tomura.
An enormous explosion occurred.
As Ms Star was sure that she had blown Tomura into smithereens, he rose from the smoke of the explosion with a burnt body.
Tomura approached to attack Star and Stripe.
Described as it happened in the best yet My Hero Academia episode 2 of season 7.
Peril
The air squad accompanying her was about to intervene.
Cathleen stopped them, as she understood any attack with less intensity than that of “Tiamat” missiles couldn’t hurt him.
She did that to save her brothers-in-arms, who were with her through thick and thin.
When everyone was mocking her for the limitations of her quirk, only they remained supportive of her.
Tomura touched Ms Star activating his Decaying quirk and All-for-One’s consciousness inside him activated his signature quirk of taking other’s quirk.
Cathleen made a last struggle by trying to set a rule to stop the decay of her body.
Last leg
Due to the limitations of her quirk, the rule’s power couldn’t keep up with the ever-rising power of the decay.
Her body starts to shatter, but some changes also start happening inside Tomura’s body.
Stolen quirks in his body were being destroyed by Ms Star’s New Order quirk.
While her quirk was being absorbed, Cathleen set another rule on her quirk, that it would rebel against all the quirks.
Her quirk started rampaging inside Tomura’s body making him lose lots of quirks that he previously stole.
She sacrificed her body as her soul continued to fight inside Tomura.
This was the only ultimate sacrifice she could make to return the favor of All-Might for saving her and her family and being an inspiration to her.
Such a bold move was made by “Star and Stripe” in the best yet My Hero Academia episode 2 of season 7.
Finally…
Tomura escaped even though the flight squad of “Star and Stripe” chased him.
On the way to escape, he was finding someone to pass on New Order.
After some search, he found two inactive villains and tried to force that quirk on them.
It was then, that he found out, that after destroying maximum quirks New Order was being destroyed itself.
On the other hand, Ms.Star’s flight squad handed over all the fight data and biological data they managed to get from the fight between Star and Stripe and Shigaraki Tomura, which became the beacon of hope for heroes to fight the strongest villain in Japan.
That was a great achievement in exchange for Star and Stripe’s far greater sacrifice in the best yet My Hero Academia episode 2 of season 7.
Conclusion
In the best yet My Hero Academia episode 2, the ultimate sacrifice of the Star and Stripe was of paramount importance to weaken the strongest threat to society, Shigaraki Tomura.
This step, solidified the resolve of Japanese heroes further and may propel the story in an ever-changing direction…
