MHA Episode 144: How To Win Against All-For-One

Posted on June 8, 2024June 15, 2024 By swetabjya No Comments on MHA Episode 144: How To Win Against All-For-One

MHA Episode 144 isn’t about who wins or who loses, it is about the grueling and meticulous preparation one needs to go through for a win.

Previously in the MHA Episode 143, all the villains were coming to terms with their past and present, be it Toga Himiko, regarding her family, Dabi regarding his past weakness, or Iguchi accepting the heavy burden he faces in the present.

They were biding their time with All-for-One to deal another strike to the believed heroes of the civilians to destroy the structure of social norms and plant the seed of anarchy.

Heroes on the other hand in MHA Episode 143, were readying themselves to launch a preemptive strike on the villains and cooking up plans accordingly.

Aoyama Yuga was paramount to that plan.

As for the next part, well it will be in this episode again anyway, so further any ado, jump right into MHA Episode 144.

What Was The Plan To Defeat All-For-One?

All-for-One has always been the biggest threat in My Hero Academia(MHA) and his deceptions didn’t know bounds.

However, in MHA Episode 144, he is done with his little tricks and is out for blood in a full frontal assault.

Given how absolutely powerful he was, there wasn’t any need for him to use any tricks from the beginning though, and on top of that, he even brought a lot of powerful villains into the team with the inclusion of Shigaraki Tomura.

Shigaraki Tomura as we Know, is the most stronger one, ranking just below All-for-One.

To make the ever-so-deceptive, All-for-One, show his tail, was the only way to initiate the plan to defeat him.

ever-so-deceptive, All-for-One,

The whole plan, from the plan of how to draw All-for-One out in public, to the plan of how to defeat him, we will discuss in detail.

As we saw in MHA Episode 143, All-Might and Detective Tsukauchi Naomasa, planned their upcoming actions with the students of 1-A, but the details of the plan wasn’t revealed there.

In MHA Episode 144, the curtain rises as All-Might explains the plan.

The Plan was as follows.

Who Was Important In The Plan Of Defeating All-For-One?

Since it was next to impossible to get the ever-so-cautious All-for-One to come out on his own, it was much required to make him believe that, everything was moving according to his order.

That was the only way he could be relaxed enough to expose himself.

And only one person can make that happen, Aoyama Yuga.

After that, you know, since you have already seen, in the previous episode, how he betrayed All-for-One at the last moment!!

But to betray All-for-One, Yuga had to lie to him, which was impossible, since All-for-One had the quirk to detect lies from one’s voice.

Here another important player came into the scene.

Remember that guy at the School Sports Festival of UA High? He had a unique quirk of brainwashing and fought and nearly defeated Midoriya Izuku.

Yes, you guessed right, it’s Shinso Hitoshi.

 Shinso Hitoshi

Previously he only could compel someone to make some movement against their wish, but as he powered up just like Midoriya and the team of 1-A, his power became more potent.

Now he can make others talk or make them do some work using their active brain power against their wish unbeknownst to them.

As he appears in MHA Episode 144, the chance of success in deceiving All-for-One increases a lot, because even his quirk can’t distinguish Shinso’s deception.

Now there was one more problem to address since All-for-One has a detection quirk in his possession, would he come if he detected other heroes lying in ambush nearby?

Monoma Neito of 1-B was indispensable this time.

Monoma Neito

His capability to copy other’s quirk for only five minutes was told to be a side character’s quirk, not an super hero’s!!

Huh!! Who is that short-sighted person?

He is basically OP for five minutes!!

However, coming back to the point, he was told to copy Kurogiri’s quirk of the portal in a way that he could keep that power on for a long time.

Kurogiri, a previous member of the Villain Alliance, which was led by Shigaraki Tomura, but he had another identity.

Kurogiri

He was a previous batchmate of Eraser Head and Present Mic, named, Shirakumo Oboro who has now lost own previous consciousness.

Shirakumo Oboro

However, Monoma with the power of Kurogiri proved to be a trump card in MHA Episode 144, as he could bring the heroes from the farthest places which would not alert All-for-One.

So Monoma Neito wasn’t a side character, but one of the major characters in the story of MHA Episode 144.

Aoyama Yuga, Shinso Hitoshi, and Monoma Neito, all of them were equally important in the plan to defeat All-for-One.

Now what remains is the way heroes will deal with the villains.

Let’s just say, it’s the strategy to divide and conquer.

The plan was to separate the villain group using the portals and dealing with them in small groups, while stronger heroes would deal with All-for-One and Shigaraki Tomura.

This was the foolproof plan cooked in the flashback phase of MHA Episode 144 to defeat All-for-One.

Battle Of Fate With All-For-One In MHA Episode 144

After Aoyama Yuga outright betrayed All-for-One in MHA Episode 143, All-for-One didn’t ponder over that and started to bring forth all the villains at his disposal not knowing, that the heroes were also lying in ambush far away out of the range of his detection.

It was our boy Monoma in MHA Episode 144, like a puppet master, who held the string of progress of the hero team tightly using his portals, bringing them together in front of the villains and causing a full frontal battle.

Dabi or the prodigal son of Endeavor, Todoroki Toya was there with the total intention of killing Endeavor, but his brother Shoto was there to offset the balance.

Tomura on the other hand seemed to be hesitating since both the personalities inside him hadn’t been consolidated yet.

However, it was nothing out of the ordinary for All-for-One, as a battle of attrition doesn’t hold any meaning for him.

But According to the plan, all was not done.

The last leg of the plan was about to start in MHA Episode 144.

Phase two of the plan, codename “Troy”, yes the same name as 1-A’s current hideout, starts.

In this phase of the plan, it was decided to isolate all the villains into separate groups, which was done by some encapsulation, which may only last for 3 seconds.

But that time was enough to send them all into separate places through Monoma’s portal.

Wow, Monoma is literally, leading the battlefield!!

But something unexpected happened, some of the encapsulation broke and someone from one of them dragged Izuku(Deku) away into another portal.

Primarily, it was planned to position Deku on the same battlefield facing Tomura, which was spoiled, which was a huge blow to the entire scenario planned by All-Might and Tsukauchi Naomasa.

The person who dragged Deku away was Toga Himiko, remember the crazy girl, crushing on Deku?

Toga Himiko

That Damnd love.

However, now in MHA Episode 144, the plan went a bit off track, and Bakugo and the team had to Fight Tomura excluding the main winning factor, bearer of One-for-All, Deku.

Bakugo
Tomura

He was taken into now levitating and fortified UA High, codename, Coffin in the Sky, which Hatsume designed in MHA Episode 142, which was misunderstood as a defense system.

It had disposable drone-type floor blocks continuously being supplied by Cementos and Creati(Yaoyorozu Momo) as the countermeasure to Tomura’s decay quirk and, Best Jeanist was there to restrict Tomura’s movement with strongly built fibers available there.

That place was covered with an electromagnetic barrier.

All-for-One was taken to the location of Gunga Villa, a remnant of the Paranormal Liberation War with Endeavor and Hawks accompanying him along with other heroes.

Dabi was facing his brother Shoto off at the place where All-Might fell, Camino Ward.

The battle with Tomura was going in an expected direction as he was overwhelmed by the sheer number of the heroes and Monoma also had his quirk blocked using Eraser Head’s quirk.

However, something unexpected happened, some abnormality came out of Tomura’s body and he attacked the hero Mirko who was attacking him, with that!!

some abnormality came out of Tomura's body
he attacked the hero Mirko

Was it a quirk? Most probably not, because his quirk was under the control of Monoma at that time!!

Then what will happen to Mirko after that?

To get the answer to these questions, let’s wait for the next episode…
