The battle between All-For-One and Heroes was going on in My Hero Academia episode 146, while Dabi and Todoroki Shoto were engaged in a battle of their own.
Previously, in My Hero Academia episode 145, according to the plan, named Operation Troy, heroes were successful in separating villains into groups and sending them to faraway locations accompanied by heroes with affinity with them.
The matchups of villains and heroes were following.
Midoriya Izuku, Best Jeanist, Bakugo Katsuki, Edge Shot, and Mirko the Bunny Girl were pitted against Shigaraki Tomura in a location secluded in the sky, the modified fortress version of past UA High, naming it Coffin In The Sky.
Monoma used his quirk to copy Eraser Head’s quirk to render Shigaraki Tomura unable to use his quirk.
But Midoriya Izuku was taken away by Toga Himiko, at this point, leaving the team imbalanced.
A team formed around Endeavor and Hawks was pitted against All-For-One at the Gunga Villa.
Dabi faced Todoroki Shoto, in a battle at Kamino Ward.
The crazy Toga Himiko was facing the team of Uraraka and Asui with the leadership of Gang Orca.
But all plans fell apart as Midoriya Izuku was taken to another location, Shigaraki Tomura displayed inhuman strength even though his quirk was rendered useless, and some extraordinary Nomus were present.
There were other concerns, such as Kurogiri and Gigantomachia, who could have been taken back by All-For-One at any time from their captivity.
Dabi, facing Todoroki Shoto, was about to tell, the reason for his deprivation.
As for what is next, will be explained in My Hero Academia episode 146.

How Did Toya Turned Into Dabi?
Todoroki Toya was a child prodigy and the eldest son of the number 2 hero Endeavor.
We all know, how Endeavor or Todoroki Enji was obsessed with removing the “stigma” of being number 2 and surpassing the number 1 hero All-Might.
We also know, how he forced that task over to his eldest child, Toya, while pushing him to his limit.
However, Toya never once complained and devoted himself to the task wholeheartedly, resulting in an accident.
A body burned to the crisp, made Enji believe, that he had lost his excellent son.
But that wasn’t the case, as he survived and the body was a fake.
What we learned in My Hero Academia episode 146, is that Toya was brought into a facility, where many other children, maybe some orphans with exceptional quirks were being raised.
A locked-up Ujiko Daruma was filling in a prison guard on those above details.
The story of My Hero Academia episode 146 starts there.
According to Ujiko, that facility was owned by All-For-One and was raising children as a backup plan, if something happens to Shigaraki Tomura in the Future.
However, Toya was different, he had become so obsessed with his father, Enji(Endeavor) that, even the ultimate puppet master All-For-One couldn’t manipulate him.
There was no choice but to tell Toya about his current predicament.
Toya had lost most of his powers, and his body was in shambles.
With his tremendously burned appearance and dulled senses, Toya had, no chance of being recognized or accepted by his father.
However, all of those words of “concern” didn’t work on Toya, as he escaped the facility but he wasn’t chased because he was not going to survive with his damaged body for more than 1 month either way.
But the unexpected happened, Toya Came back as a stronger version of himself.
From here on, let us hear the story, from Toya himself as he tells his brother Shoto the tale of disappointment.
Toya did come back home, only to find out that, he had become a past memory to his father, which he almost had forgotten.
It was that day, which turned Toya into Dabi.
It was after that Dabi(Toya) driven by a sense of resentment and zeal to survive, to see the end of Endeavor(Todoroki Enji), dragged his tattered body along and survived.
A grown-up Dabi visited Ujiko with a death wish, which made Ujiko aware of Toya’s(Dabi) survival.
Dabi Vs Todoroki Shoto In My Hero Academia Episode 146
While we were immersed in the story of Dabi, the fight of Dabi vs Todoroki Shoto had been going on.
A resentful Dabi, who despised every little achievement Endeavor had made, burned his body with dulled senses as tinders, to incite his firey battle with Shoto.
In the ongoing battle of Dabi vs Todoroki Shoto in My Hero Academia episode 146, Dabi used the most powerful move of Endeavor’s prime, the Flashfire Fist.
It was a double-edged sword for Dabi, as that power works dangerously while building up the user’s internal heat to maximum and releasing it afterward with maximum output as an attack.
But as I said, Dabi had a death wish, he bated his own life in this gamble-like battle to take everything away that Endeavor holds dear.
Dabi shifted his target to Shoto, Endeavor’s precious and elite son.
However, Shoto wasn’t just a figurehead, he was capable enough to retaliate.
It was My Hero Academia episode 146, where Dabi came clean about his take on Shoto.
While showering Shoto and his team including Iida and many others, with his burning hot move, Hell Spider, Dabi spat out his negative thoughts about Shoto.
According to him, Shoto took everything for granted, cowering in the corner of UA High with all the scared civilians and his merry band of friends.
While, Dabi didn’t give up any chances to excel in his childhood, provided By Endeavor, even though his uncontrollable power ate away his body and senses.
However, Shoto, despite having a blessed body to quiet the surplus heat his body exudes, faced away from his calling and depended on others to compensate for his lack of expertise.
Dabi blasted Shoto away, saying, his attitude would prevent him from his future achievements.
Well, Shoto was aware of his shortcomings, he knew that he alone couldn’t move forward, as all of Shoto’s well-wisher friends of 1-A were always there holding out their helping hands.
This was the reason, he decided to correct his father’s mistake for which his brother Toya(Dabi) went on the wrong path.
He had to stop Dabi, who had burned many lives previously.
Todoroki Shoto’s Resolve
Todoroki Shoto, despite his father’s(Endeavor) prohibition, decided to face Dabi, because Dabi’s existence was a sign of Shoto’s family’s crime.
So, he had to take on the task of paying for that crime by stopping Dabi and, coming to an understanding with him.
He had come up with the ultimate moves of his to complete the task.
Since Shoto had ice and fire, both within him, he was able to use his heart to pump his chilled and heated blood to circulate in unison to create stability inside his body, while creating a cold flame.
This approach set him apart from Endevor’s vision, where he only wanted ice to suppress inner heat.
Back in the fight in My Hero Academia episode 146, Shoto used his ultimate moves Icebound Crash and Cloudeflame’s Pale Blade, to chill down Dabi’s flame.
Dabi did a last struggle, as he didn’t believe that, they could ever come to a mutual understanding.
Shoto was protected by Burnin, Kido, and Onima, from Dabi’s flame.
Shoto had the flame burning inside him, which was lit by his comrades, team of 1-A.
He used his final move Great Glacial Aegir to finally snuff out Dabi’s flame.
Now, what will happen next?
Will Dabi go down?
To Know, what is coming next, stay tuned for the next episode…
