How Is Lablac Belle Different From Other Populous?
The story shows in Bye Bye Earth episode 1, a clear distinction between Lablac Belle and other populous.
Among all other demihuman species, only Belle has no hairy body, horn, or large ears, according to other demihumans, she is a nopperabo(featureless), and very different from them, making her a deviant.
Everyone else either feared or detested her, but had to depend on her strength, because, unlike other demihumans, she held immense strength.
This was the case for her since her childhood every child was disgusted by her featureless trait, and adults were fearful of her massive strength.
Even her seemingly kind adoptive parents were afraid of her to some degree since she wasn’t born in a normal way, according to what others say, she was born from within rock!!
Maybe this was the reason for her to find a similar existence, just like her, and like a miracle, she was drawn to a magical sword named Erehwon even though it is shown in Bye Bye Earth episode 1, that she called it Runding, which unexpectedly responded to her, and child Belle found her first-ever friend, who accepted her.
However, due to the crime of taking out that sword, she was imprisoned, but nobody could take that sword off of her, and this was the time she met her teacher, and new parent, who accepted her as she was.
Belle’s world started to grow, and her hunger to intermingle with the world grew, unlike others.
Lablac Belle’s Job As Shown In Bye Bye Earth Episode 1
Lablack Sian, the teacher of Lablack Belle, as shown in Bye Bye Earth episode 1, was the one who taught her to utilize her strength to do good and survive in a world that is harsh to her.
She was entrusted the job of monster exterminator by his teacher Sian.
In Bye Bye Earth episode 1, the existence of a plant-based monster is shown, specifically in this episode, that monster came from the seas by the river and planted its root under a lake named Lake Chaser, destroying the sweet water of the lake with its salty seed bulbs.
The story begins in Bye Bye Earth episode 1, as Belle reaches the lake and meets her client, the arbiter of Weather Wheel Tower beside the lake.
After she learns the whole story, she confidently jumps head first into the water to check the monster, with red and thick skin with multiple tentacles and spits black ink from its facial orifice, which her teacher suspects to be a monster of the negroni species, and that was proven true after her inspection.
Next came the elimination process, which was quite difficult, one of the reasons was its multiple tentacles, and another reason was the ink it spewed could contaminate the lake water further, so Belle had to be careful with the whole hunting process.
However, after quite a struggle Belle managed to, nearly kill the monster, but out of curiosity she asked it, why it didn’t return to its natural habitat, the ocean, its thought somehow resonated with her.
It isn’t clear yet if it is Belle’s special power or if it occurred by accident, but by this process, Belle learned that the monster couldn’t leave because it was nearly time for it to die, so it presented one seed of her to help that escape since it knew it would be destroyed if left there.
After ending its life, Belle severed a part of its tentacle as she planned to feast on it and the seed she was presented to, and she left, she couldn’t care less what others think of her at this stage.
Why DId Lablac Belle Decide To Become A Nomad?
Lablac Belle was having a good life with her teacher Sian, feasting on the monster meat she brought from her hunts and learning many things from Sian.
However, as we learned previously in Bye Bye Earth episode 1, that wasn’t enough for her, she wanted to meet her kind, learn about her roots, and intermingle with the world more, in which her teacher couldn’t help her.
According to Sian, the longing Belle has inside of her is homesickness, which is comprised of her love for not yet seen home, or the painful inability to love the place she currently is in, and Sian doesn’t possess the cure for this metaphorical sickness.
That’s why, Sian suggested, she become an official nomad, by the way, Belle and her teacher Sian were already spending a nomad life however, Belle wasn’t an official nomad yet.
To become an official nomad one has to go through a rite of passage, we will discuss that later.
So, since this was the only way Belle could find her answers and search for her desired place in the world, she didn’t take more than one night to accept this suggestion.
What Did Lablac Belle Lose In Her Pursuit Of A Nomad Life?
Now it’s past the stage of deciding on a destination in Bye Bye Earth episode 1, what is left is to undergo the process of rite of passage for becoming a nomad.
To do that, the first step is to face one’s teacher in a battle after taking a blood oath.
The second step is to take a curse on own self, which will take shape as the way of life of the bearer, and will continue to haunt them in their journey but can also become a blessing in the distant future.
By the way, in this world, most honorable jobs come with a named sword, just like Sian has a sword named Enola which also means Guardian or Teacher, just like that, Belle’s sword also has a name, Erehwon, meaning Utopia.
So, with the unique meaning and unique set of ideals, Belle could now begin her journey after he completes her third step in the passage of the rite, by cutting down the image of her teacher Sian, she had in her mind, which means completely forgetting about Sian.
This was a huge loss for her, since her only connection with the outside world and the person who was the only emotional support for her, the entire time, she was going to lose that person entirely.
Well, this is how it happened in Bye Bye Earth episode 1, she had to lose him to gain her objective either way, so she did what was expected of her.
As for, what happens next, to know that, stay tuned for the next episode…
