Till now, it has been all about heroes facing villains as their adversaries and trying to win, however, in My Hero Academia episode 149, it’s about heroes who struggle against their limitations and take another step forward.
Previously in My Hero Academia episode 148, Earphone Jack and Tsukuyomi, who were mobs according to All For One were going against All For One with their all.
Earphone Jack was simply couldn’t stand the grief All For One caused to her friends, and despite off huge power gap, she gave her all to attack All For One, which somehow worked!!
All the quirks inside All For One went haywire making him unstable, and Hawks took this chance to attack and partially shatter All For One’s life-supporting mask giving chance to Tsukuyomi to land a bigger blow, to shatter his mask entirely.
After their successful joint operation, they were hopeful that, All For One was somewhat suppressed, but no, that wasn’t the case, since he already did take control of his quirk back and launched an unavoidable attack, which was obstructed by Endeavor who finally gained the drive to fight against All For One.
After some fighting and losing one arm, Endeavor burned All For One to a crisp, only to find out, that he was capable of regenerating even from that stage.
On the other side at The Coffin in The Sky, a full-fledged battle was going on against Shigaraki Tomura, making the entire location unstable due to Tomura’s growing mass.
However, BAkugo took a do-or-die approach to attack Tomura with his ultimate move Howitzer Impact, but failed, which resulted in Bakugo having one of his arms broken by Tomura.
To know, what happens next, keep an eye on My Hero Academia episode 149.

Most Perilous Situation In The Coffin In The Sky
Instead of continuing the fight between Endeavor and All For One, My Hero Academia episode 149 continues the story at The Coffin in The Sky, and resumes to show the hero’s struggle against one of the strongest villains Shigaraki Tomura.
Even though heroes can’t back down, what would one do if faced with an unbeatable power?
Shigaraki Tomura is such a character, powered up with super regenerative body parts, which continues to grow at an unimaginable speed and power comparable to the once strongest hero All Might even with his quirk sealed.
Everyone thought Bakugo Katsuki was close to suppressing Tomura, but what they thought to be Tomura’s power was just the tip of an iceberg, instead, Bakugo was thrown away like a ragdoll with a broken arm.
Yes, the situation was quite bleak, the powerhouse Best Jeanist was wounded, Mirko, and Edgeshot were struggling even to get close to Tomura.
The Coffin in The Sky was in shambles, and Bakugo was totally in Tomura’s grasp, as Tomura was planning to kill Bakugo in such a way, that would incite Midoriya Izuku’s anger which may, in turn, would make Izuku vulnerable.
The tables had turned, and the overall situation was in Shigaraki Tomura’s control.
Heroes Fighting Against Shigaraki Tomura
As the perilous situation was going on in The Coffin in The Sky in My Hero Academia episode 149, heroes couldn’t just get beaten onesided, right?
It was time for the young generation to shine, Suneater and Nejire were present at the scene, what more Lemillion joined forces with them also.
It was time for a counterattack, the key piece to that was Suneater, while Nejire distracted Tomura with her attacks.
Taking advantage of the diversion Suneater used his Vast Hybrid Chimera quirk, and injected deadly scorpion poison into Tomura’s body, but that wasn’t enough to damage Tomura’s body, as he expelled the poison almost immediately.
However, damaging his body wasn’t their intention also, it was to buy enough time for Lemillion to rescue Bakugo from Tomura’s grasp, which was a success.
Remaining Consciousness Of Shigaraki Tomura
As we know, Shigaraki Tomura was brought up by All For One as his Vessel, and he almost succeeded in doing so, however in My Hero Academia episode 149, we may see something different.
After rescuing Bakugo from Tomura’s grasp, Lemillion managed to land a blow on Tomura and demanded a crucial answer that wavered Tomura’s consciousness, that was, does he not have any friends?
A question that somehow touched the very sole of Tomura or should we say the Shimura Tenko hidden deep inside Shigaraki Tomura’s consciousness, causing a childish verbal outburst.
It was the same consciousness that Midoriya Izuku felt through the power of his quirk One For All when he was fighting Tomura in the Paranormal Liberation War.
Heroes Struggling Against Their Limitation In My Hero Academia Episode 149
Leaving Shigaraki Tamura’s condition aside, it seemed next to impossible to even hold Tomura back, in that stage, it may seem like all the hope is lost.
However, it is the UA High Hero course students we are talking about, who have only learned to cross their limit plus ultra, so the contingency plan was already cooked.
All three senior students of UA High, Suneater, Nejire, and Lemillion, had an unbreakable bond since they all had their lacking past, which they overcame.
Nejire was a curious child, who questioned anything and everything and didn’t know better than to read between the lines, which caused her to be shunned by her friends, which made her gloomy in her teenage years.
However, an awkward Suneater did bring her out of her shell with the help of Lemillion, so it is understandable if their teamwork excels over anything else due to their strong bond.
So the plan they put in motion had the most chance of success, only if they came to terms with their weakness and pushed through that.
Was Suneater, Nejire, And Lemillion Able To Deal With Shigaraki Tomura?
The plan was, while Nejire would distract Tomura with an attack with the help of Lemillion she would also feed Suneater her energy since he can turn whatever he eats into his strength, in the meantime, Suneater would stack other unique powers from different food sources and build an arsenal to attack Tomura.
As Tomura had an everchanging body, maybe Suneater was the right matchup against him since his strength also grows and changes according to the consumables he intakes.
So, Suneater’s attack seemed to work a lot more than others, with the strong blow from Lemillion.
However, even though their joint attack landed a considerably large blow to Tomura, it was not even close to dealing any bigger damage to Tomura.
According to Tomura what can’t put down All Might is also ineffective against him.
He even one-sidedly attacked all three of them and injured them in the process.
So, no Suneater, Nejire, and Lemillion weren’t able to deal with Shigaraki Tomura, but it was their effort that counted since the next was up to Bakugo.
Struggle Of Bakugo Katsuki
At this stage in My Hero Academia episode 149, Bakugo may have been severely wounded, but he didn’t give up.
Bakugo was constantly fighting against pain both physically and mentally.
As Tomura outright denied Bakugo’s credibility as a hero and mocked his dream to surpass All Might, Bakugo was biding his time and was strategizing a counterattack while observing the gaps in Tomura’s attack.
He was fitting against his inferiority and helplessness, not dwelling on those, gathered enough courage after he saw Suneater, Nejire, and Lemillion trio’s attack fail.
While using the last attack, Howitzer Impact, Bakugo unknowingly stored his nitroglycerine-like explosive sweat in his multiple sweat glands.
Which in turn discharged those sweats from his whole body, increasing his overall agility or should we say velocity.
Bakugo’s speed coupled with the insight Bakugo built upon observing Tomura’s attacks, helped Bakugo attack Tomura and dodge an attack launched by Tomura once and also gave him a chance to attack Tomura again.
In the meantime, Bakugo was suffering from excruciating pain just like Izuku used to suffer while using One For All before learning Full Cowl and was trying to fight against the pain to move one step further from the pain to catch up with Izuku.
Bakugo Katsuki On His Last Leg
Bakugo launched a last attack which could be a deciding factor at this stage in My Hero Academia episode 149.
However, the power gap was too big, and Tomura’s attack pierced his heart, killing Bakugo in the process!!
Totally unexpected, and one major character died like that, however in his last moment, Bakugo learned what he actually held in his heart was not competitiveness against All Might, but admiration for him, Just like Izuku did.
All Bakugo wanted was an autograph from All Might and to rightfully earn his recognition.
Finally
A tragic death in My Hero Academia episode 149 may have made the mood somber, but no doubt an according retribution for the villain Shigaraki Tomura is on the way.
Hurry Midoriya Izuku, before it’s any more late.
As Midoriya Izuku on his way, what is to expect, to know that, stay tuned for the next episode...
