Will Serfort’s Promise to Elfaria to watch a real sunset from the top of the tower was far from being fulfilled but in Wistoria Wand And Sword episode 3 that didn’t stop him from giving a helping hand to Elfaria when she needed one.
Previously in Wistoria Wand And Sword episode 2, a 10-year-old Will Serfort was in danger of getting kicked out of Reigarden Magical Academy due to his lack of Magical Prowess, however, the Headmaster found his ability to nullify magic spells with sword amusing and decided to let him stay.
Will was told that with enough determination and hard work he may be able to climb up to the rank of Magia Vende, so he didn’t give up and slack off in his effort.
However, Professor Edward was dismissive of Will’s effort and approach to becoming a Magia Vende so he challenged the authority of the Headmaster, as a result, he got a free pass to test Will’s worth.
However, Professor Workner was against this idea, since Edward the Dark Vipermage was the closest to existing in becoming a Magia Vende and was immensely powerful, so fighting him was detrimental to Will’s career since the terms were if he failed to land a blow in the duel with Edward he will be expelled.
However, there was a chance to pass the spellwork class he was failing due to the lack of credits, if he could manage to land a hit on Professor Edward.
As spiteful as Edward may be, he was fair in the test, since he used a handicap in the fight against Will, which was, that he planned on only using two spells, the attacking spell of Black Flame, Dax Darbicans, and the defensive spell Darge.
Will struggled a lot since he didn’t have his main weapon with him, a sword, and he couldn’t use a wand until his familiar Kiki brought Colette along with his sword.
Will’s fighting pattern changed after getting the sword and after some dodging and parrying, he managed to cut through the defense spell Darge of Edward defeated him in the duel and acquired passing credits.
As for, what happens next, to know that, keep an eye on Wistoria Wand And Sword episode 3.

A Chance To Shine In Wistoria Wand And Sword Episode 3
In Wistoria Wand And Sword episode 3, a different side of Will Serfort is seen, as it was known that he is an honor student strictly based on theoretical aspects, but what wasn’t known is that he also was a working student who works multiple part-time jobs, like newspaper delivery, working in a tavern, etc.
One fateful morning, while delivering a newspaper, Will found out about the accomplishments of his childhood friend Elfaria Albis Serfort, who is now one of the Magia Vende, and maybe the only one in history who invented 12 unique spells.
But that isn’t the news here, the most important fact is, that Elfaria had put forward a request to procure material for her research for students of Rigarden Magical Academy, giving Will a chance to shine in his expertise.
There were two factors for which Will couldn’t ignore that request, the major one of those two was, that the client is his most precious childhood friend Elfaria, and the other one was that this request could be a door to the first step toward the tower of Magia Vende Mercedes Caulis.
Well, the dungeon was like a natural habitat to Will either way, maybe that’s why his expertise in magic theory was so impeccable, since according to the greatest Mage Queen Mercedes, everything about magic starts from the dungeon.
Either way, there was no time to waste, since the material Will had to obtain from the dungeon was the ice core of a vicious beast Frost Walker and his sword alone wouldn’t be enough to deal with that.
Luckily his roommate Rosty Nowman is an artificer and had the perfect artifact ready for him.
Everybody should have a friend like him.
All that was left for Will was to score big in the dungeon by getting the desired ice core for Elfaria.
Commonality Of Ambition
Before going into Will’s endeavor in the dungeon, one first needs to understand Elfaria’s accomplishments as shown in Wistoria Wand And Sword episode 3, and why one should be in awe and pursue the same route as her.
As it’s clear now, the world in Wistoria Wand And Sword is all about magic, that’s why it can be safely said that one’s magical prowess is also directly related to his/her authority.
It was told by Professor Workner in a lecture of his in Wistoria Wnad And Sword episode 3, that to be advanced to upper university in the tower, one of the options is to create one’s original spell which could be named after its creator, like the dark flame spell, Dax Darbicans was named after the ancient Firewatchmage Darbicans.
In this aspect, Elfaria Albis Serfort was maybe many steps ahead of all of the greatest mages of history, it was unheard of for one single mage to invent 12 original spells, so Elfaria Albis Serfort was a common goal for most of the students of Rigarden Magical Academy.
Colette was no different, since Will, the person he was attracted to was chasing blindly after such a person like Elfaria.
There was another person, a junior student in 4th year, named Iris Churchill, who although not dreamt of becoming Magia Vende, however, set her goal to support Elfaria in the future.
Also, there is Will Serfort, who dreams of sharing the title of Magia Vende with his childhood friend Elfaria.
So, there exists some commonality in all those different ambitions.
Inside The Dungeon
As we learned enough about Elfaria’s accomplishments and everyone else’s shared dreams as shown in Wistoria Wand And Sword episode 3, it is time to get the front seat for the action.
As Will made his way to the dungeon, he found it was already crowded enough, and Sion was literally slaying it.
Will had no other choice but to go more inside of the dungeon for his hunt.
It was that time he from a damsel in distress, a 4th year junior Iris Churchill facing monsters way out of her league.
It was a cinch for Will to slice through those monsters and save Iris.
Next, they introduced themselves, and Iris seemed quite blunt with her words since she didn’t shy away from speaking out about him not having any magical talent, but she didn’t mean any disrespect by her words.
While conversing they found a common topic about Elfaria Albis Serfort.
Iris mentioned that she was once saved by Elfaria, from a monster siege, which inspired Iris to assist Magia Vende Elfaria Albis Serfort in fulfilling her duty of maintaining the seal in the sky with her other Magia Vende colleagues.
Putting Iris’s admiration for Elfaria aside, it was time to, seriously look for their target Frost Walker.
Oh, by the way, Iris also came to the dungeon for the same reason as Will and tried to find Frost Walker by tracking spell to no avail.
However, Will was quick to find the track of a bigger Frost Walker by his wit, experience, and unorthodox method.
It seemed unusual to Iris since Will couldn’t use magic despite that he found the track of that monster, the answer to that was simple, according to Will, magic could be a helpful trait but not absolute since there is some knowledge that couldn’t be gained through magic at least in the dungeon.
Be it fortunate or unfortunate, that monster was lying in an ambush hidden from them.
However, that ambush failed, since Will’s perception which was trained in the dungeon and his experience alarmed him about Frost Walker’s existence, which was right above them.
That was the highest form of Frost Walker, a Frost Rex, worthy of credit 6.
This monster was the worst match for Will since all he knew was physically attacking something, and this particular monster was resistant to such attacks, it even was known as Dwarve Killer, since Dwerves are experts in physical attacks.
The perfect choice of attack was to launch magic spells toward that monster since any matter that came in contact with that would freeze.
However, Will had a plan ready for that situation, the artifact Rosty built for him was the key to that plan.
After dodging its attack multiple times, Will managed to use the artifact.
The functionality of that artifact was a massive explosion, which worked excellently.
All was done, the ice core was salvaged, mission was completed.
Finally
Until now in Wistoria Wand And Sword episode 3, Will’s endeavor was shown, but something different was about to be unraveled also.
Iris Churchill isn’t as simple as she seems, in reality, she is an informant of the tower to be more precise, of Magia Vende.
In the presence of four Magia Vende, respectively, Cariot Incindia Wiseman, Ellenor Ljos Alf, Zeo Thorzeus Reinbolt, and finally Elfaria Albis Serfort, Iris recommended WIll Serfort for a positions his first chance in the tower, which was immediately rejected by Cariot and Ellenor.
However, Zeo showed interest, and finally, everyone came to a decision, that selection would be decided by the competition in the Grand Magic Festival anyway, so they would wait for that.
So, what is in store for Will at the Grand Magic Festival, to know that, stay tuned for the next episode…
