Wistoria Wand And Sword episode 6, is all about the Crown Attack competition of the Grand Magic Festival, the only stage for Will Serfort to shine.
Since the wager between Julius Reinberg and Will Serfort resulted in Will competing in the game in which he never even hoped to compete in the past, so Julius should be the major focus of Wistoria Wand And Sword episode 6, right?
However, this isn’t the case in this episode as it was hinted at the ending of the previous episode.
Instead, Sion Ulster was the one who grabbed all the focus in this episode with a little bit of the appearance of Julius.
That begs the question, of how Wistoria Wand And Sword episode 6 is presented, and what elements of attraction are present in this episode?

Heated Relationship Between Sion And Will
The major focus of Wistoria Wand And Sword episode 6 is the unique and confusing relationship between Sion Ulster and Will Serfort.
Sion Ulster is presented as a genius of the Magic Academy but always hungry for more recognition, while Will, despite being an absolute failure in magic talent, never despairs and sets his aim high up in the cloud overlooking others around him.
These two polar opposite characters do come together as a team in Wistoria Wand And Sword episode 6, so keep the consequences real, friction was much needed at this point, which although started at the end of the previous episode, takes its root in this episode.
Up till the previous episode it felt like Sion hated Will for him being a failure, however, the intensity of Sion’s hatred and his desperation to maintain that mental state also felt quite unnatural, and that is undoubtedly true to some extent.
And, that discrepancy became sorted in this episode, where the reason for Sion’s hatred for Will became clear, which was simple ignorance on Will’s part.
Baring the adolescent emotion of Sion that shaped his teen mind is probably the best way to establish and depict that unique relation between Sion and Will, where, along with hatred, admiration also exists!!
The flashback where the same past of Sion and Will is shown from their different and own perspective is a nice touch that may have helped viewers to get a proper understanding of the fundamental differences between both characters’ thought processes and personalities.
And after understanding that, one could easily conclude what may be the reason for the heated relationship between Sion and Will.
Sion Isn’t A Typical Arrogant Punk
In Wistoria Wand and Sword episode 6, Sion is presented as a rival, not just as a spiteful side character.
What makes one feel about Sion like that is his effort to progress and the result, which Will had to recognize since it was so evident.
Even when facing Will, the one he loathed that much, Sion was shown to give his 100% without being drunk on power.
So, even though he was dying to one-up Will, Sion still had his rationality intact, and his aim to win wasn’t driven by the petty motive like Julius, which was to ridicule Will, instead what Sion longed for was Will’s recognition.
Sion doesn’t seem so bratty now, right?
On the other hand, it wasn’t like Sion was belittling Will like Julius while battling him and was fighting him with his full strength from the beginning until the end, Sion even used his ultimate attack in the Wistoria Wand And Sword episode 6.
Since Sion was presented in Wistoria Wand And Sword episode 6 in this way, it’s kind of impossible now to call him a typical arrogant punk anymore.
The Lacking Part In Wisteria Wand And Sword Episode 6
Everything was well till the climax part of the Will vs Sion battle, but the way it suddenly stopped by Colette’s intervention without any lashing out from Sion is a little bit anticlimactic, there could have been something more that stopped Sion rather than a flimsy barrier of earth.
Except that, Colette dealing efficiently with one of the top 3 prospects Julius Reinberg’s clone seemed a little bit far-fetched, or maybe she struggled, but this episode failed to show that in any conclusive way, except by showing her in tattered clothes.
