It would be an overstatement to say Fairy Tail 100 Year Quest episode 12 maintains the momentum from its previous episode, however, that doesn’t mean that this episode lacks total credibility in representing the exact Fairy Tail-like vibe.
The previous episode in Fairy Tail 100 Year Quest was quite phenomenal after the few beginning episodes since that episode succeeded in capturing the true essence of Fairy Tail, one of which is emotion regarding familial bonds.
However, in Fairy Tail 100 Year Quest episode 12 things again get somewhat the same as before, with all of its somewhat exaggerated humorous moments and oversimplified struggling of the main characters.
So, except for the Wraith and Fairy Tail Magic Guild’s Guild Master Macarov’s touching past flashback, there is nothing much of rich substance in this episode.

Some Less Significant But Entertaining Sequences
On that note, we can say that Fairy Tail 100 Year Quest episode 12 contains some less significant sequences which are of good entertainment value.
To name a few, Lexus and Dragon Eater Guild’s Kiriya’s battle sequence where Kiriya failed to separate Lexus’s strength from his body due to his belief that his being weak made him depend on his family Fairy Tail Magic Guild, is hella cool, and when he blew Kiriya away, that particular instance was so satisfying after seeing Erza experience humiliation from the same move of Kiriya in one of the previous episodes.
On the other hand, the humorous situation that Cana was included in, added to the entertainment value of Fairy Tail 100 Year Quest episode 12, where she was found to be, not brainwashed unlike other Fairy Tail Magic Guild Members, simply she was passed out due to her drunkenness amongst all of the commotion.
This typical Cana also played a big part in neutralizing other brainwashed Fairy Tail Magic Guild Members, using her enchanted cards.
Besides that, Wendy and Nebaru’s battle where Wendy was permanently named a cocoon girl because of the way she had her body covered in a cocoon and only her face and her limbs were protruding outside, and her bouncy action, was quite funny to watch, and the more serious she became the visuals become more funny along that.
Now, if we focus on the Jellal and Erza combo, Jellal with his unleashed hidden desires and a troubled Erza at a loss of words to react is quite a humorous situation, moreover, Jellal slowly awakening to a new fetish is something out of character for him but also quite entertaining.
So, though the inclusion of all of these less significant sequences didn’t do much for the plotline of Fairy Tail 100 Year Quest episode 12 instead added some entertainment value as you can see.
Why Does Fairy Tail 100 Year Quest Episode 12 Seems Less Significant?
Well, to be honest, Fairy Tail 100 Year Quest episode 12 is mainly based on the 100 Year Quest and Fairy Tail’s conflict with White Mage and Dragon Eater Guild at max.
However, this episode does show very little about the fundamentals of those subject matters, instead shows some entertaining sequences that are simply continuations from the previous episodes and short an instance to preserve the Fairy Tail-like ambiance, which barely helps in this case.
In other words, Fairy Tail 100 Year Quest does not put much effort into showing rich content that could further make the interaction between characters more interesting or show any instance where the story itself gets more complex or gets a new direction for viewers to follow.
The same old, five cities above Wood Dragon Aldoron and the spheres of control in them being the main point of interest, there is a limit to how much the content can evolve.
So, this specific approach of Fairy Tail 100 Year Quest episode 12 is the reason that makes this episode less significant than the other episodes, period.
And, for that reason, this episode, despite having some nice entertainment value, doesn’t get to be called an episode that can be remembered as one of the specific ones that gets to actively involve itself in the ongoing storyline and leave some major changes or leave some impactful impression in it.
Final Thought
Since Fairy Tail 100 Year Quest episode 12 doesn’t impact the major plotline to that extent that makes it seem like the story flow is changing.
It, rather uses some insignificant and quite entertaining sequences to hold the story flow in its designated path and keep the story’s original flavour intact.
In other words, except for Wraith and Makorov’s past flashback and their moment of reconnecting, and on the other hand, at the last moment of this episode, Touka, the other personality of White Mage pleading Natsu for help, none of the other sequences does impact the main storyline much, as all of those are simple continuation from the previous episode.
Oh, if I were to mention another insignificant but potential variable that can or can’t change the story a little bit going forward is Cana not getting brainwashed due to her drunkenness.
So, to wrap up the discussion, it is essential to mention, that Fairy Tail 100 Year Quest episode 12 does keep the standard flow of the story going without any major impactful event except for some small instances that could level some impression on the viewers to some extent and a somewhat questionably worthwhile cliffhanger that teases and makes one curious about the content of the next episode.
