Dandadan episode 2 delves deeper into the chemistry between Ayase Momo and Takakura Ken and again dome bizarre tales.
In other words, the story shown in the previous episode becomes more detailed and entertaining in Dandadan episode 2.
Now after the revelation of the name of Takakura Ken to Ayase Momo, who is the true fangirl of an old movie star with the same name, and throwing some signature dialogue of that same star unknowingly to Ayase, no doubt some changes in Ayase’s behaviour was bound to happen.
Along with their evolved chemistry comes a new challenge, as if intended to test their bond.
So, overall, Dandadan episode 2 shows the true teamwork of Ayase and Takakura and gives a glimpse of their personalities.

Bond Formed Through Sense Of Urgency
In the previous episode, we saw Ayase and Takakura, the unlikely duo becoming acquainted to each other, and in Dandadan episode 2 we will see how they will form a bond greater than they previously had.
Previously, Ayase escaped by the skin of her teeth from the aliens that abducted her with the help of Takakura cured By Turbo Granny while awakening her supernatural power.
In short, the previous episode was the amalgamation of both sci-fi and supernatural element.
However, Dandadan episode 2 is all about showing Ayase and Takakura’s improved bond and teamwork, so both sci-fi and supernatural elements become less important in this episode, that’s why sci-fi, being the only element present in this situation, doesn’t affect the overall theme of the series.
Now, let’s see how the chemistry between Ayase and Takakura further developed through the sense of urgency.
Well, as per the ongoing story, Takakura was cursed by Turbo Granny, which turned him into a half-monster and he also had to suffer the loss of one of his most important body parts.
And since that situation came to be due to the bet between him and Ayase, Ayase felt a sense of guilt and responsibility.
And, this particular personality of Ayase is also one of the reasons for bond-forming of her with Takakura.
The character gap of Ayase actually played its part here, which also added an additional layer to her personality along with laying out a suitable and logical plot to show the appropriate reason for the bond to be formed.
So, one of the important factors that gave rise to an urgency in this subject matter is the curse placed on Takakura by Turbo Granny.
And, as the story progresses, another trouble is introduced to them, another alien, Flatwoods Monster.
And, this very alien does test their bond by its action while also making the story of Dandadan episode 2 more interesting.
All the incidents that happened that involved that alien brought out the ultimate teamwork of Ayase and Takakura.
Especially, the incident where Ayase managed to control Takakura’s curse to some degree that he was able to use the power that comes along with the curse without being engulfed by that curse.
On the other hand, Ayase using her supernatural power in succession to defeat Flatwoods Monster along with the courageous steps, did lay the foundation of their bond.
So, all those incidents, displayed in Dandadan episode 2 depicts the very urgency that compels Ayase Momo and Takakura Ken to form an even deeper bond than shown in the previous episode.
Bits And Pieces That Stands Out In Dandadan Episode 2
Dandadan episode 2 has many important instances and details that stand out and make this episode more entertaining and more detailed in portraying the unlikely duo Ayaka Momo and Takakura Ken.
Among them, Ayase Momo shows her headstrong and caring personality in many instances, like, when she literally puts her body at risk and gets pummeled by Flatwood Monster in the same barrier that was conjured by that alien and somehow manages to defeat it with her wit and grit, saving Takakura Ken along the way.
And, this particular instance does show that she is both headstrong and caring, while also got the brains along with the brawns.
On the other hand, Takakura Ken is shown to be one courageous bastard.
Even though he sees an enemy way out of his league, he doesn’t turn away from a challenge and literally risks both his sanity and life depending on Ayase Momo and plunges headfirst using the cursed power to deal with the stronger enemy.
This instance also shows his trust in his only friend Ayase, which came forth from their developed bond.
There are some funny instances that stand out and add to the value of the story of Dandadan episode 2, like, his irritable mood swings when Takakura first transformed into a controllable cursed form.
There is also that instance where he gets instantly set ablaze, as soon he comes to the proximity of the enchanted talisman, gets thrown into a river, and gets his heir burned into a perm.
Especially the buildup before Flatwoods Monster was just enough thrilling to keep the viewers hooked and during their confrontation with that same monstrosity, the well-choreographed action sequences were indeed the icing on the cake.
Now, if we see in more detail, among all of the instances, that stick out, there is one that helps the story in different ways instead of only with the continuation of the story flow.
Like, For the whole sequence, when Ayase lets the first-ever guy in her house, who is Takakura Ken, and from there, the display entertaining and awkward situation between them up to the point of both enjoying explicit jokes, is what functions as a display of the chemistry in the newfound comradery between them, which may have shown in a easiest way possible.
Final Thought
Dandadan episode 2 does have more impact than the first episode, because, in this episode, we get to experience both of the main characters with their little bit of exposed personalities and chemistry between them, more vividly than before.
Now, all said and done, this episode indeed excludes the spiritual phenomenon, but that doesn’t take away the fun from the overall viewing experience, and keeps the tension going to keep the viewers longing for the next episode.
