Demon Slayer Season 4 Episode 8: Enters Kibutsuji Muzan

Posted on July 1, 2024July 1, 2024 By swetabjya No Comments on Demon Slayer Season 4 Episode 8: Enters Kibutsuji Muzan

Beware!! Kibutsuji Muzan is coming. While all the training was going on, Demons, especially Kibutsuji Muzan rolled dice, hidden in darkness. Finally In Demon Slayer season 4 episode 8, he came out to decide Demon Slayer Corp’s fate.

Before we get to know more about the events involving Kibutsuji Muzan, let us jog our memory about the Demon Slayer season 4 episode 7.

Kamado Tanjiro finished his training with stone Hashira, Himejima Gyomei, and had a chance to learn about his tragic past, as an answer to his question, which was, why would Himejima believe him so much?

In the meantime, Zunitsu had an important letter delivered to him by his messenger bird Chuntaro and turned all serious, which was very much unlikely of him.

After his training With Himejima was completed, he moved on to train with Water Hashira, Tomioka Giyu and found him and Wind Hashira, Shinazugawa Sanemi training together.

His training under Tomioka Giyu was about to start.

It was nighttime, and someone infiltrated the Ubuyashiki Mansion, which Sanemi detected.

The infiltrator was, none other than Kibutsuji Muzan, and as he reached Ubuyashiki Kagaya as he was sick in bed, Kagaya addressed KibutsuJi Muzan without being perplexed, and with determination.

Next, what happens, can only be found in Demon Slayer season 4 episode 8.

Kibutsuji Muzan Meets Ubuyashiki Kagaya

Upon glancing at Ubuyashiki Kagaya, Kibutsiji Muzan said only one thing, that he certainly looked hideous.

As Ubuyashiki Kagaya had already lost his vision, he asked Amane to describe Kibutsuji Muzan’s appearance.

According to Amane, Kibutsuji Muzan looks like someone in between their mid-twenties to late-twenties, his eyes are light pink, and his pupils are vertical slits like a cat’s.

It seemed like Kagaya knew about this event, where Muzan would come to kill Kagaya himself since the Ubuyashiki clan and Demon Slayer Corp. had been the ones, who were thorns in Muzan’s side.

That may be true, but after facing Kagaya, what Muzan found was very disappointing for him, the deplorable condition of sick Kagaya was repulsive to him

It can’t be helped, since according to the doctor, Kagaya was supposed to die at least six months ago, but he is somehow still alive, maybe his will to defeat Muzan played a big part in this.

Past Of Ubuyashiki Kagaya And The Reason For The Demon Slayer Corp’s Birth

You may wonder, why Kagaya is so hung up on killing Muzan.

To understand, first, we need to know about the Past of Ubuyashiki Kagaya and the history of the Ubuyashiki clan.

In reality, Kibutsuji Muzan is of Ubuyashiki bloodline, and according to Kagaya, his clan was cursed due to the birth of Muzan in it.

When most of the newly born babies were dying of illness and the lineage was about to be wiped off, they consulted a priest and learned that a Demon had emerged from their bloodline, if they put maximum effort into killing that Demon, their bloodline may survive.

Since then, they have only married the daughters of priests and managed to prevent child death, but nobody was able to live past the age of 30.

This was also the reason, the Ubuyashiki clan established Demon Slayer Corp. to kill Muzan.

However, Muzan wasn’t convinced by the reasoning, as according to him in his long thousand years of life, he had taken hundreds and thousands of human lives but never seen a god or never received any divine punishment, so why would only the Ubuyashiki clan receive punishment?

Muzan seems like an atheist, while Kagaya believes in karma.

Ambition Of Kibutsuji Muzan And His Weakness

Next, it was time for Ubuyashiki Kagaya to get his long-awaited answer, to his question, which was, what is the dream of Kibutsuju Muzan and his ambition?

Muzan didn’t need to answer the question, because Kagaya could guess the answer to that question after meeting with Kibutsuji Muzan.

Muzan Longed for eternity, or to be precise immortality, and according to Muzan, he would be able to get that after he got Nezuko, who despite being a Demon, had overcome the sun.

Even if Kagaya had her hidden, Muzan had enough time to find her, unlike Kagaya.

But, according to Kagaya, Muzan won’t be able to gain eternity, because his understanding about that was lacking.

Eternity is the human will, passed on to the next generations, and it is also immortality.

Eternity is the human will, passed on to the next generations, and it is also immortality

According to Kagaya, in Muzan’s thousand years of lifespan, he hasn’t been forgiven for taking someone’s beloved person’s life.

Each time he took this action, unforgiveness against him piled up throughout his lifetime, and was, carried forward by Demon Slayer Corp. despite large sacrifices.

This feeling of not forgiving him also could be called eternity.

What was detrimental for Muzan was that he kept on inciting the sleeping dragon again and again, which is Demon Slayer Corp. and he had to pay the price for that, and killing Kagaya won’t stop the movement of the Demon Slayers.

However, if Kibutsuji Muzan dies, all his subordinates will die off.

Another thing Muzan didn’t take into account was, that if Ubuyashiki Kagaya died, all other Demon Slayers would be more frantic to kill him.

End Of Ubuyashiki Kagaya

After the conversation ended, Kibutsuji Muzan attempted to kill Ubuyasiki Kagaya.

On the other hand, Hashiras, and Kamado Tanjiro, were on their way to fend off the Demon’s attack on Ubuyashiki Mansion after the Wind Hashira, Shinazugawa Sanemi informed them about the Demon infiltration.

Along with Sanemi, Water Hashira, Tomioka Giyu, Snake Hashira, Iguro Obanai, Love Hashira Kanroji Mitsuri, Mist Hashira, Tokito Muichiro, Insect Hashira, Kocho Shinobu, rushed towards Ubuyashiki Mansion.

However, what they saw, was a huge explosion destroying the entire Ubuyashiki Mansion.

what they saw, was a huge explosion destroying the entire Ubuyashiki Mansion

This is how Ubuyashiki Kagaya died along with his family.

Kibutsuji Muzan In Peril

Kibutsuji Muzan came out of the wreckage with a burned body and dismembered legs and arms.

Kibutsuji Muzan came out of the wreckage with a burned body and dismembered legs and arms

So, it wasn’t Muzan who did that attack?

It seemed like Ubuyashiki Kagaya exploded the entire Ubuyashiiki Mansion, with his family, him, and Muzan inside!!

It was taking longer for Muzan to regenerate, as the bombs had stone or metal splinters inside, which had lodged inside his body.

Muzan was in a somewhat helpless situation, which Kagaya created with his life as the price.

Kibutsuji Muzan Had no choice but to accept Ubuyashiki Kagaya’s inhumane drive to achieve a goal.

Tamayo And Himejima Attacks Kibutsiji Muzan

In Muzan’s moment of weakness, he was attacked by Blood Demon Art, in the form of multiple seeds of flesh which turned into spikes of hardened blood, piercing him and branching inside his body, thus preventing him from moving.

As he was about to absorb those blood thorns to free himself, someone lodged her own fist into his stomach, she was Tamayo, the only demon resisting Muzan.

someone lodged her own fist into his stomach, she was Tamayo, the only demon resisting Muzan

She approached Muzan using Blood Demon Art: Eyeblind, which restricted Muzan from tracking her.

Muzan instinctively absorbed the content of that fist, which was the medicine to turn Demons back into humans, researched for a long time by Tamayo.

Muzan outright denied Tamayo’s reason for the grudge towards him, which was, she killed her husband and child after turning into a Demon, by the hand of Muzan.

According to him, it was entirely Tamayo’s fault, but Tamayo still blamed him saying, that, she didn’t want to die from illness and only wanted to live a little longer to watch her child grow up.

However, due to despair, she indulged herself in destruction and gluttony, by eating lots of humans after mistakenly killing her own family, she also deserves to die.

So among all this, Tamayo called for Himejima to attack Muzan, and Himejima, who was also hiding using, Eyeblind, crushed Kibutsuji Muzan’s Head.

But, it was not enough to kill Muzan, by only crushing his head, as unlike other Demons he can regenerate his head also.

Ubuyashiki Kagaya, In The Memory Of Himejima

Ubuyashiki Kagaya, in the memory of Himejima, is such a person who knows the exact words one needs to hear in moments of need.

Himejima met Kagaya when he was 18 and Kagaya was 14, but Kagaya’s attitude and aura wrapping him didn’t seem like that of a 14-year-old.

Himejima met Kagaya when he was 18
 Kagaya was 14

When Himejima turned 19 and became a Hashira, he insisted that Kagaya have his Mansion guarded by someone from Demon Slayer Corp., which he always denied, saying he couldn’t use such important force, fighting against Demons, for personal use.

Five days before Muzan’s arrival, Kagaya somehow learned using his instinct, that Muzan could come to kill him, so he asked Himejima to use him as bait and cut Muzan’s head.

He also predicted that only cutting off his head would not be enough to kill him, maybe only sunlight is his weakness, so he will have to occupy him until the sun comes out.

Hashiras Assemble With Kamado Tanjiro

As Kibutsuji Muzan regenerated his head, other Hashiras had already reached the destination, so Himejima screamed about Muzan’s presence and the specialty and only weakness of him to others.

Everyone attacked altogether, all of the Hashiras and Kamado Tanjiro.

However, their attack couldn’t reach Kibutsuji Muzan this time, as traps were prepared for them.

The Fall

Some doors opened beneath their feet and made them fall on the other side of the doors.

This was happening, with all members of Demon Slayer Corp., Genya, Inosuke, Zenitsu, Mr Murata, and all other cadets.

They were falling into the same place, Iguro Obanai and Shinazugawa Sanemi found in the first episode of this season, while chasing a Demon.

It was a place with a messed up center of gravity, and direction.

Kamado Tanjiro faced Kibutsuji Muzan while falling, and declared to take his life at any cost.

Finally

This episode of the Demon Slayer season 4, is not focused on training even though it’s in the training arc, instead, it marks a new beginning for the battle between Demon Slayers and Kibutsuji Muzan.

Since it is announced that the next installment of the story(Infinity Castle Arc) will come in the form of three Demon Slayer movies, we will have to wait for the first movie of the three, to know the next progress of this story…
