Hi, it’s Kaiju No. 8 episode 11, Kafka has been captured with definitive proof of him being Kaiju No.8, but one thing isn’t proven yet, is Kafka a human or a full-fledged Kaiju?
Previously, in Kaiju No. 8 episode 10, the Daikaiju that attacked the Tachikawa base turned gigantic and started to rampage in the training zone.
Soshiro had only one goal, keeping it in the training zone until Captain Mina came.
He was near death while fighting that Daikaiju, so Kafka attempted to save him in his Kaiju form, but before he could fully transform, Mina came to Soshiro’s rescue.
She was able to, put that Daikaiju down with the support of the whole Third Division, especially with the help of Soshiro and Kikoru.
When the whole third Division was enjoying their victory, they noticed That Daikaiju transformed all of the wyvern-type Kaiju gathered together in a spherical form and built a Kaiju Bomb, on par with 20 kilotons of TNT.
Kafka had to step up this time, because, nobody except him could stop that disaster incarnate, and he transformed into his kaiju form and saved the day.
The real problem started from there, as he was exposed as Kiju No. 8, and the whole team especially Mina turned against him.
What is in store in Kafka’s fate will be discussed in Kaiju No. 8 episode 11.

Kafka Got Captured In Kaiju No. 8 Episode 11
It is Kaiju No. 8 episode 11, and Kafka has been taken into custody, well, what do you expect, when he already exposed his Kaiju form in front of the whole Third Division of Defence Force?
However, Kafka didn’t have any other choice except to transform in that situation, as he was the only one who could save Tachikawa Base from that disastrous Kaiju Bomb.
This is called a paradoxical situation, where he had to come forward as Kaiju No. 8 anyway, to save his team members and himself, but his being exposed as Kaiju No. 8 was also the reason for the predicament he was in.
The story of Kaiju No. 8 episode 11 starts as we see Kafka being imprisoned somewhere.
He was calm but worried, now, what could he be thinking about?
Kafka was thinking about what the future had in store for him because he had learned that Numbered Kaiju’s body parts are used in making weapons for the Defence Force.
He was worried that he could no longer be a Defence Force officer and how he betrayed the trust of Reno Ichikawa, who went through thick and thin, beside him.
Don’t fret Kafka, the situation was out of your control, and Third Division probably doesn’t blame you.
On the other side, higher authorities were discussing their plan with Kaiju No. 8 in not so far future.
All of the bigshots were present, be it the Deputy Director of Defense Force-Kaiji Itami, Chief of Staff of Defense Force Eastern Command-Juzo Nogizaka, or the Director General of the Defence Force-Isao Shinomiya.
Their main plan was to dispose of Kafka and then use his body parts to make anti-Kaiju weapons.
The ultimate decision was to make the Third Division hand over Kafka to the headquarters.
It seems Kafka’s future is somehow set in stone.
Mina And Soshiro came with some guards to take him to the headquarters, Mina seemed indifferent and Shoshiro seemed somewhat angry.
What? Was I wrong?
Does the Third Division see Kafka as an enemy?
All the members of Kafka’s team were standing on guard, including Reno but Kafka couldn’t meet his eyes out of shame.
While thinking, Reno must resent him for breaking the promise of not transforming into Kaiju.
But that doesn’t seem to be the case, as Reno declared that he will be waiting for Kafka’s safe return!!
After getting into the isolated vehicle, Mina finally opened her mouth, saying nobody in the Third Division thinks of him as an enemy, and they were trying to gather evidence to prove him human.
See, I told this before, nobody in the Third Division blames him.
Kafka had only one query, could he ever try to stand beside Mina again?
Mina answered affirmatively saying she would wait forever.
Well, that’s one silver lining.
The third Division saluted the leaving transport from behind, and they saluted Kafka, it’s 100% true, but as stated to the authorities they saluted Mina.
This was a very touching scene, in which Kafka gets the recognition he deserves, and proves his struggle was not in vain.
What Was The Situation At Tachikawa Base After the Kaiju Attack?
Kafka became the most discussed topic among the newbie members of the Third Division.
Failed attempt of Iharu to lighten the mood, didn’t work, as nobody could be the same after what had happened.
Minase had a great impression of Kafka as he saved her previously, during the beginning of the attack on Tachikawa Base, Iharu was also no exception, he was saved by Kafka from Kaiju No. 9, during the first mission.
However, none of them had a solution to Kafka’s current predicament, as it was a matter big enough to handle by mare officers of the Third Division.
Kikoru had the connection to make things happen, as his father was the Director General of the Defence Force-Isao Shinomiya.
But her effort was for naught, as his father wasn’t in favor of pardoning Kafka since physical examination shows Kafka as a full-fledged Kaiju and he can’t forgive any kaiju since he lost his wife to one.
When this trouble was ongoing in Kaiju No. 8 episode 11, an order to reassign the personnel of the Third Division to some different teams, came.
Maybe higher authority was trying to observe the officers involved with Kafka separated and under observation, even though Mina said that wasn’t the case.
According to her, Tachikawa Base had lost its 75% functionality and was not a suitable place for fledglings.
Reno was the first to accept such an unreasonable order, as he had to become stronger at any cost so that Kafka didn’t need to face such an issue anymore.
Everyone was doing their part to try Kafka get free of charge, Aoi was contacting his superior, in search of any possible way to pardon Kafka from the charge he was facing.
How Would Kafka Prove His Humanity?
In Kaiju No. 8 episode 11, in this episode, Kafka needed to keep his unwavering conviction to remain as a Defense Force Officer, firm.
As he was facing the judgment of the higher authority of the Defence Force, he had to prove his humanity in Kaiju No. 8 episode 11, at any cost, but things weren’t going to be so easy.
He had to remain mentally strong as the one to judge him was the Director General of the Defence Force-Isao Shinomiya, himself.
He was known to be harder on Kaiju than others.
The first thing Isao did was order to release Kafka’s binds, which made Kafka think, that, Isao was a reasonable person, so Kafka appealed to him saying, he is a human.
But the reality was far from it, as the next thing Isao did was, shoot Kafka with anti-Kaiju bullets suddenly, and after Kafka blocked those, Isao grabbed a hold of his stomach to tear a piece of it.
His answer to Kafka’s appeal was, that Kafka can’t be human as the prowess he showed can’t be that of a human.
Isao took out his special-grade weapons, an Identified Kaiju weapon made of a numbered kaiju, like Kafka.
The weapons were, In the form of arm gauntlets, displaying the power of Kaiju No. 2, sighted in 1972.
That was the most powerful Kaiju yet, and Isao’s combat suit was also made of that kaiju’s tissue.
It was, sure death for Kafka as he was partially displaying his kaiju form to prove, that he was a human being.
All he could do in that situation was to dodge Isao’s attack and wait until Isao’s combat suit crossed its operational time duration.
But it was easier said than done, as Isao was the most experienced veteran present there, and was reining down on him like a battle fanatic.
Losing his hand and feat and regenerating those again and again, Kafka’s movement became sluggish and took a direct hit from Isao, which was supposed to eliminate him.
However, that wasn’t the case, Kafka transformed into his complete Kaiju form but something was wrong.
It wasn’t Kafka controlling his own body but something else, which, in turn, transformed Kafka into a real Kaiju with the only need for destruction.
What would happen now?
How would Kafka Prove his Humanity?
To know the answer, to the above question, stay tuned for the next episode…
