Posted on April 27, 2024June 8, 2024 By swetabjya No Comments on Kaiju no.8, latest episode, Revenge match

In this latest episode, Revenge match, of Kaiju no.8 there will be the struggle of a 32-year-old to aspire to be the best version of himself. Let’s dive into the story to know more.

Previously…

Kafka Hibino, a 32-year-old, who had lost his aspiration of becoming a defence force recruit and fighting the monstrosity named kaiju, started chasing his dream again.

A youngster named Reno Ichikawa pushed him along the way and Kafka followed through despite his repeated past failures.

But even before he started the process, Kafka somehow became infected and transformed into a kaiju himself, losing all hope for his dream.

In the process of escaping the eye of the defense force, who are responsible for kaiju’s termination, Kafka did a good deed of protecting civilians from kaiju in his kaiju form.

Kafka’s own actions inspired him to pursue his dream once again.

After three three-month periods, he and Reno both passed the first level of the test to join the defense force, now only the second level remains.

Both of them arrived at the venue for the second test after ten days and there they met a promising young exam candidate named Kikoru Shinomiya and had some scuffle with her.

Now…

While Kafka had some scuffles with Kikoru, she showed her power with the help of the combat suit she was wearing. In response, Kafka also showed his own might while hiding his kaiju transformation.

This was the beginning of this episode, Revenge match.

After that, both went their way to the exam venue.

Before entering the exam venue, Kafka steeled his resolve.

The second test had two different parts, one was a fitness test and another was an aptitude test.

In the fitness test part, Kafka faced his current physical weakness that everyone faces while aging and ranked 219 within 225 examinees.

This was a very realistic result that was shown in this episode, Revenge match.

As Kafka was pondering about his result, Reno taking this chance familiarized him with all the promising exam candidates.

Aoi Kaguragi

Aoi Kaguragi is the rising star of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force. He turned down the sure spot for the JGSDF elite to come to the defense force. He ranked first in the fitness test.

Haruichi Izumo

Haruichi Izumo graduated top of his class from Tokyo Neutralization University and ranked second in the fitness test.

Iharu Furuhashi

Iharu Furuhashi was a valedictorian of Hachioji Neutralization Technical College and third rank in fitness test.

Kikoru Shinomiya

Kikoru Shinomiya graduated from California Neutralization at the age of 16 skipping grades and becoming younger ever to do so.
She is a target of some people’s jalousie and some people’s idol of admiration as she is called the most talented exam candidate.

Kikoru Shinomiya

In this exam, the captain of Third Division Defense Force Mina Ashiro was present along with the examiner and vice-captain of Soshiro Hoshina. As Soshiro presented the examinee list to her she showed interest, which was unusual of her.

Mina’s behavior’s cause was his childhood friend Kafka’s presence with whom he promised to become a defense force recruit in the future and terminate kaiju.

Second half

Next comes the most important part of the exam and also the episode, Revenge match, which is the aptitude test.

Here Reno dropped an information bomb on Kafka. He revealed that for the last two years, the topic of the second test had been the kaiju corpse disposal to test the examinee’s knowledge of kaiju and their teamwork.

Exactly for this reason Reno had been working part-time with his kaiju cleaning team. But to their dismay, the contest of the exam was changed and was kaiju neutralization now.

They have to wear the combat suit of Izumo Tech, named G-X4552, and fight the kaiju of a designated number at a designated spot and neutralize them.

After measuring the combat power they unleash in the combat suit they will be deployed in the operation field.

Reno unleashed 8% of combat power which was quite good for beginners. The next important examinees showed great potential, Haruichi Izumo at 18%, Aoi Kaguragi at 15%, Iharu Furuhashi at 14%, and the greatest of them all was Kikoru Shinomiya at a whopping 46%. But unfortunately, Kafka showed a disappointing 0%.

In action

In an urban training location, 36 kaiju codename Yoju were released, and 16 fatalities were caused by them in Hachioji. Examinees had to capture them alive as training aids. Everyone was followed by drones live streaming their video and stats.

If the examiner decides someone’s life is in Denver, they will remotely activate the shield function of the combat suit but that will mean the examinee’s failure.
Kikoru started brilliant performance from the very beginning, but Kafka and Reno wasn’t so lucky.

Kikoru started brilliant performance

After some time, Soshiro announced third division captain Mina Ashiro also watching their performance. This motivated everyone differently, but Kafka became more desperate for results, so he switched strategy.

He and Reno went for supporting others instead of a frontal attack and somehow succeeded.

In their winning streak, they became careless and a roaming kaiju attacked Kafka gravely injuring him.

While he was on the verge of being disqualified by the examiner, Kikoru saved him and went for another big target while mocking him.

Since his combat suit couldn’t support him he couldn’t suppress his wounds, but in his desperate struggle, he somehow managed to upgrade his compatibility with the suit from 0% to 0.01%.

to 0.01%

Conclusion

In this latest episode, Revenge match, Kafka literally attempted to take revenge on his past failures, but will he succeed Or not only the next episode will tell.

 will he succed Or not
