Mahotsukai No Yome Season 2 Part 2 Review (Spoiler Free)

Posted on July 11, 2024July 18, 2024 By swetabjya No Comments on Mahotsukai No Yome Season 2 Part 2 Review (Spoiler Free)

Mahotsukai no Yome, it’s been an offbeat anime for most of the part compared to other magical fantasy animes, especially part 2 of season 2 of this series.

After being adapted from the manga by Yamazaki Kore, directed by Terasawa Kazuaki, and beautifully animated by Studio Kafka, season 2 of this series came out with greater impact than ever.

Although this season is slightly different from season 1, this series maintained its close-to-reality approach to show the magical journey of Chise Hatori and Elias Ainsworth, while adding a new phase to Chise’s life.

While some older characters are present, more importance is given to newer characters in this particular season’s part 2.

Also, the overall tone of this season’s second part is somewhat different than that of season 1.

Now to understand the uniqueness of the second season, part 2, we need to discuss some points regarding this part.

Table of Contents

  • How Different Is Chise Hatori In Mahotsukai No Yome Season 2 Part 2?

How Different Is Elias Ainsworth In Mahotshukai No Yome Season 2 Part 2?

Elias Ainsworth is an Ancient magus as shown in Mahotsukai no Yome, with very little knowledge of human emotions, but very much curious about it.

Elias Ainsworth is an Ancient magus as shown in Mahotsukai no Yome

Since ancient, he had been finding a way to understand this near-incomprehensible subject with no avail, until he chanced upon Chise Hatori, a bird-in-a-cage, whom he freed, and asked to be his bride.

They struck a deal in which Elias was supposed to be his mage teacher and Chise Would be his teacher for learning human nature and emotions.

However, In season 1 Elias was more like an entity imitating human behavior, whereas in the second part of the second season, he somewhat came close to understanding what humans value most and how they feel when those what they value most are threatened.

Elias learned to worry about someone close to him.

Previously it was enough for him if only Chise stays alive, but now he can’t stand even if she gets a scratch on her body, his nonexistent inner organs tighten, as Elias said, which makes him overprotective of her.

Previously Elias only knew what an acquaintance was because that was a more technical aspect, but now he learned to differentiate an acquaintance from a friend and realized that a lot of whom he previously thought as acquaintances were actually his friends, because he genuinely cared for them.

The most important part of all is Elias learned to care for others not only Chise, but his overprotectiveness was also applied to them.

How Different Is Chise Hatori In Mahotsukai No Yome Season 2 Part 2?

Chise Hatori was an unfortunate teen who was saved from her misfortune by Elias Ainsworth and since then she has been living with Elias as his conceptual wife, teacher of humanity, and student learning how to become a mage.

Before Chise, maybe because of her unfortunate past was unable to overlook someone’s trouble and jumped headfirst to solve that not worrying about herself, and the person worrying about her.

Previously, it was enough for Elias to be alive, so that wasn’t an issue, but since he learned to worry about every little thing about her, it became difficult for her to do the same as before.

So in This season, Chise goes to Magic College, to learn her limitations and the best ways to help others without sacrificing herself, as we know from previous events before the second season, Chise has already lost her original left hand due to dragon’s curse and left eye in exchange of immortals eye.

After these blunders, it was necessary to put a stop to her reckless behavior, so she chose to go to college to learn about the best way to avoid such mistakes, in return, Chise gained some like-minded friends, which she never imagined.

Chise gained some like-minded friends

Friend’s influence made her more prone to ask for help from others instead of doing everything by herself, especially in the second part, this quality of hers would be proven very useful in times of peril.

How Is The Story Of Mahotsukai No Yome Season 2 Part 2, Different From Season 1?

The second part of the second season of this series is a little bit different from season 1.

Season 1 was mostly Chise-centric, but that entirely isn’t the case in this part of season 2, it’s more centered on a new character and friend she made in college.

it's more centered on a new character and friend she made in college

This part displays Chise banding with her friends to solve problems which is much different from her trying to solve everything by herself endangering herself as shown in season 1.

What is the most unique in this season is that Elias and Chise found a new meaning in their relationship which didn’t need to be bound by any set title, this is really an insightful factor shown in this season.

In this part of the season, for the first time, Chise had to ponder on her head-first approach trying to solve a problem without thinking ahead or thinking of the percussion.

All in all Chase’s maturity in thought process is one of the most important takeaways in the second part of the second season.

Another important part is Elias learning to sympathize with others, which gave chance to others who were worthy of it.

There is also another difference in part 2 of the second season of this series from season 1, that is, it is so much fast-paced, more fast-paced than season 1 and even more fast-paced than the first part of season 2.

What Is The Same In The The Season 2 of Mahotsukai No Yome With Season 1?

As there are many differences between season 2 and season 1 some similarities are also there, like Elias and Chise being involved with unknown entities for the sake of others.

There is also, the involvement of new allies in their cause though this time their allies take more importance than them.

Just like in season 1, a new kind of entity, like a forgotten god is introduced in this season of Mahotsukai no Yome.

Though little, however, similarities are there in this season with season 1.

Final Thought

After watching this part 2 of season 2 of Mahotsukai no Yome, I can say with confidence that it may be a more slow-paced version magic fantasy series than the other of the same genre, but the the story of this series is more profound than others.

It makes you think about the social structure and psychology of humans as magic in this series is more based on that, it’s more of a concept than a chronicle of unique power.

So, according to me, this part of the second season of this series is definitely worth a watch.
