It’s been a hoot since My Hero Academia season 7 started. Up until episode 13, or you could say My Hero Academia episode 151, there are some major villains that beg viewers’ attention.
Even though, this time the studio Bones is animating My Hero Academia season 7, the animation more or less maintained the same standard as before, that’s why both hero and villains are getting the same levels of exposure and if we talk about villains, they probably showing more of their characteristic traits than before.
Since this season is not sparing any effort in showing the Villains in their barest forms, let’s learn about some of the major ones among them.
Table of Contents
Kunieda
Kunieda may be the most underrated villain in My Hero Academia season 7, since up till episode 13 or episode 151 of My Hero Academia, he is shown only once in episode 147 in My Hero Academia.
Being an assassin sent by All For One, he is very shrewd and mysterious with a tricky quirk of generating some kind of poisonous plant.
In episode 147 or in My Hero Academia season 2 episode 9, among all the other villains who remained at The Makeshift Fortress Troy, Kunieda was the only person who understood the divide and conquer plan of the heroes and was quickly able to grasp the total manpower of the heroes who where staying behind at Troy and adjust his strategy to deal with them accordingly.
Spinner
Spinner or Iguchi Shuichi is presented in My Hero Academia season 7, as one of the most interesting unorthodox villains, who is seen as the hope of the Paranormal Liberation Front as he replaces the decommissioned Re-Destro.
Spinner joined the Paranormal Liberation Front after being inspired by the ideals of Hero Killer Stein.
However, he didn’t seem to have much of a bigger ambition after assuming that role, in fact, it seemed that All For One gaslighted him in taking over that role in the pretense of helping Shigaraki Tomura whom Iguchi assumed as his friend.
He also has gone through a second weakening after receiving a second quirk from All For One, which in turn made him gigantic and more strong, but it seemed to have cost his rationality.
Despite losing rationality he seemed to have enough faith in Dabi’s ability that when the news of him being defeated by Todoroki Shoto in My Hero Academia season 7 episode 9, was spread wide, he started to attack harder instead of believing that news.
Toga Himiko
Toga Himiko has been shown as some crazy girl lusting for blood and longing for romance up till now in My Hero Academia, however, in My Hero Academia season 7 episode 5, some extent of Toga Himiko’s real backstory is shown.
She was shown to be born with a unique quirk that compels her to absorb the blood of the person she likes and helps her become like that person.
The stronger the attraction the stronger the thirst for blood becomes, and naturally, society doesn’t even put any effort into understanding her condition and straight on, labels her as a deviant, even her parents join that side.
Maybe to express the result of the lack of the required love, Toga Himiko was shown to be an eccentric one.
And, when in My Hero Academia season 7 episode 7 Toga Himiko finally confesses to her crush Deku, that may have been one hell of a surprise even for viewers.
I mean, everyone knew and understood that she had a crush on Deku which was unprecedented in other shonen anime since it’s about the unrequited love of a villainess for a hero, however, what is more unorthodox is the declaration of that love.
And, this one sequence made her a more unique shonen anime villain, I think.
All For One
There is nothing much to say about All For One since he always gets enough exposure in almost every season, however, in My Hero Academia season 7, All For One is shown in a different shade.
All For One is not all-powerful anymore in this season, although after some point he starts to gain the upper hand, but, at the beginning, he is shown to expose his weakness and his trickery also seems to work very little on Heroes.
One of the reasons for his weakness could be, that this time Heros were prepared and did a preemptive strike.
However, as I said, he gains the upper hand at some point and returns to his usual all-powerful self, no, he may become more than that as he is shown to gain the power and body of his prime using the quirk of Eri, which is Rewind.
Shigaraki Tomura
The most contradictory villain character shown in My Hero Academia season 7 may be Shigaraki Tomura.
Although he became all-powerful just like All For One who can battle powerful heroes even without using quirk, but he wasn’t supposed to be himself anymore as he was raised to be All For One’s vessel, and to some degree, All For One succeeds at this process.
However, there remains a snippet of Shigaraki Tomura’s childhood ego in the form of Shimura Tenko.
Otherwise, he is probably the most dangerous villain to appear in My Hero Academia ever, even more hazardous than All For One.
The very existence of All For One’s ego and Shimura Tenko’s ego are what makes his self-conflicting personality.
Final Thought
After watching up to the 13th episode of My Hero Academia season 7, it is evident that the villains are depicted more prominently in this season, especially some major villains.
Be it their current condition, ideals, weakness, or obsession, each and everything is laid out clearly in this season, which makes viewers sympathize along with hating the villains.
So, all the major villains depicted in this season are more or less rich with their quirks both ability and character-wise.
That’s why all the major villains are more relatable in My Hero Academia season 7 than in the previous seasons of My Hero Academia.
