Noor, one of the underrated protagonists of all the fantasy anime released in 2024, may not be so much of a letdown after all, because the series I Parry Everything presents him in a unique spotlight.
Now, this underrated protagonist with some great redeeming disposition doesn’t explain its credibility without some needed discussion, so here it is.

History Of Noor In I Parry Everything
In I Parry Everything Noor does appear as a little bit of special existence with some cliche backstory presented in a unique way and with a unique outcome.
From early childhood, he grew up hearing about the legends of renowned adventurers who were like shining heroes who lit up little Noor’s heart.
However, just like any cliche story, he had to go through hardships, like losing his father at an early age and tending to this ill mother his whole childhood.
Though this series didn’t create any emotional cesspool for Noor or at least didn’t show the situation in that way, instead, it kept the overall viewer’s experience a little bit light and easy to digest.
The main story starts after Noor becomes an orphan after losing even his mother, and becomes determined to become an adventurer.
From that point on he attended all the training programs, from swordsman to priest training program and tanker, archer, thief, mage, etc, in between.
All of those dedications led to zero results as shown between episodes 1-4, which resulted in him officially becoming a failure as an adventurer, and this turn of events has the kind of vibe that the protagonist of The Rising Of Shield Hero.
In other words, he had a different kind of strength, that was immeasurable in the present measurement, which was developed by his persistence and grit.
And, here is the point that makes him a little bit different from the other OPfantasy protagonists(though he is OP alright).
Noor And His Uniqeness
Noor as presented as the protagonist in I Parry everything gets as weird as possible as the episodes progress.
In early episode 1, he was shown as one hell of a determined guy boiling with an indomitable spirit to become an adventurer, however after a reality check, he learned his lack of aptitude.
However, that didn’t stop him from further improving his own limited skillset, parrying, which is quite odd and unexplored in any of the previous fantasy anime.
After a lot and lots of training, he somewhat masters the skill, as per his perception, however, in reality, he had already surpassed the human realm.
Well, as for how he had this misconception that his skill doesn’t amount to much, was because he was oblivious to worldly affairs since his childhood since he lived in presumable magic barrier-protected boonies.
For example, in episode 5 Noor easily mistakes a dangerous monster, the Black Death Dragon, which he can deal with, as an oversized frog.
So, it’s only natural he would undermine his own capabilities in such circumstances.
Besides this, others seem to mistake him as one hell of a righteous person, however, it’s not such a simple matter in his case.
Yes, he is somewhat honest, and he seems to be somewhat courageous, but that’s all, the fact is, he simply hates troublesome matters, so when in the incident that happened in episode 2, where the king of Clays kingdom promised him a reward for rescuing his daughter’s life he simply let go of that chance, since for him, that would be a bigger headache than fighting an overpowered monster.
And, his way of behaving with others without discrimination also stems from his ignorance of social structure, which other thinks of as his broad-mindedness.
So, such an oblivious character who also seems to be somewhat practical may be somewhat similar to the protagonist of Suppose A Kid From The Last Dungeon Boonies Moved to a Starter Town, however, Noor and his maturity differ largely from that character.
So, all these special features that decorated Noor and presented him in I Parry Everything in a unique light, make him more and more different from other 2024 release fantasy anime protagonists.
And, this is how viewers can differentiate him as a unique character that neither is so much exaggerated nor so much dull that this series had to use other elements to brighten his existence.
Slow Transformation Of Noor
During all 12 episodes of I Parry Everything, the transformation of Noor is very slow and subtle, but that actually doesn’t bore the viewers.
In fact, this approach helps to better understand Noor as a character and his disposition.
Starting from his unyielding spirited younger self to his wise adulthood, there are many instances that do leave some traces in viewers’ minds that are testaments of his growth.
In the very beginning, he was simply a boy in search of a glorious life of adventure and excitement, however, after failure, he started to improve his shortcomings using a very long time period up till his adulthood.
That was the time he again took a blind shot for his dream to be shot down due to his failure and he settled down for a lesser version of adventurer.
This whole ordeal seems to have significantly lowered his self-esteem and made him believe his stretch is subpar.
However, he learned to use his limited skills very sparingly and with enough intelligence, his risk analysis skills also seem to have improved at this point.
But, to reach to this point, a long period of effort and mental conditioning was essential, in wich Noor had to put enough effort into.
And, watching this slow transformation of Noor is worth every penny, since all the instances in the process actually sets up the true vibe of the story.
Final Thought
After watching the whole I Parry Everything series, it is evident that Noor is kind of never seen before, sort of unique and down-to-earth character not due to his intentional humbleness, but by his inherent ignorance.
So, in other words, Noor, as he is shown in I Parry Everything, creates a memorable impression despite not being much of a noisemaker.
