Wistoria Wand And Sword Episode 2 Review: Proving Own Worth

Posted on July 16, 2024July 24, 2024 By swetabjya No Comments on Wistoria Wand And Sword Episode 2 Review: Proving Own Worth

Up until now, before Wistoria Wand and Sword episode 2, we have seen capabilities and lacking parts of Will Serfort, which is being strong with a sword despite, not being able to use magic. Next, we will see him prove his worth to back his claim to become a Magia Vende.

Previously in Wistoria Wand and Sword episode 1, a boy named Will Serfort longed to reach the pinnacle of magic to keep his promise with his childhood friend, in a magical society despite having no magical prowess, and to reach there he needed to become Magia Vende.

To become Magia Vende, he needed to surpass the upper credit limit of 7200 in the credit system of Magical Academy’s curricula, Writing, Spellwork, and Praxis.

Since he had no talent in magic, scoring credit in Spellwork was impossible, so he had to concentrate on Writing and Praxis-hunting monsters in the dungeon.

After getting a lead on a monster named Baskerville, he dived into the dungeon oblivious to the fact his bully Sion Ulster also heard about the lead and went to hunt that monster before him, blocking his path to graduation.

However, Sion’s plan didn’t work as imagined, since a more powerful monster appeared to claim his life, an Evil Sentinel, however, he was saved by the enormous physical strength of Will.

What happens next, we will learn that in Wistoria Wand and Sword episode 2.

Past Of Will Serfort

A 10-year-old Will Serfort was brought to Rigarden Magical Academy despite not having any magical power, as a motivation for his childhood friend Elfaria who was supposed to become the youngest Magia Vende ever.

So, after Elfaria became Magia Vende, there was no further need for him, and what was awaiting him was being discarded by the Academy.

However, he found an ally amongst all the opposition he faced in his academic life, Workner Norgram was that person.

On top of that, the Headmaster also tested his skill with a blade as she wanted to see how that fared against magic, which worked wonders.

That’s why, he was given a chance to attend the Academy, but all Will could think of was being beside Elfaria by climbing the Magia Vende’s tower.

The Headmaster told him if he gave his all to progress with indomitable will, then there was a chance.

However, there is an instance where the Headmaster said, pointing at some unknown person that it’s his/her fault that she had to take such a step, what does that mean?

Does that mean remaining at the Academy could be detrimental to Will?

However, this is how the story of the sword chasing after the wand starts.

Inspiration Of Will Serfort

As shown in Wistoria Wand and Sword episode 2, to even think about becoming Magia Vende one must first advance to the upper institute and to reach there one must either create a new type of magic or earn credits of more than 7200 from Magical Academy’s curricula, Writing, Spellwork, and Praxis.

That is the only way to get permission to climb the topmost floor of the tower named Mercedes Caulis, where Magia Vende reigns.

However, Will laced credit tremendously in Spellwork, so he had to gain his lacking score by Writing and Praxis.

However, one can’t just follow such an arduous path without any inspiration.

Will had found his inspiration from a renowned topic of history, the Battle of Garzaronso which occurred in the year 344 of the Magical Era.

This was a very renowned topic, about the absolute victory of magic against military power, but Will liked the story for another reason.

The story was about Dwarves fighting against unjust treatment against them be it unfair labor law, which encouraged forced overworking and discriminating treatment compared to other nonhuman races like elves.

The story was about Dwarves fighting against unjust treatment against them

The battle was fought against only one mage from the human side and ten thousand armed dwarves devoid of magical powers.

Although the dwarves lost in the end, however, the commander of the dwarves Gareth, kept fighting until the end and the mage had to struggle to defeat him,

Ultimately, that mage had no other choice but to praise the dwarven commander’s bravery and acknowledge the dwarves’ equal rights.

That commander is Will’s role model, who pushes him forward in his journey to achieve the most difficult goal, becoming Magia Vende.

That’s why when Sion Ulster was facing Evil Sentinel sacred in his boots, Will was able to rescue him, even though defeating Evil Sentinel became Sion’s credit by the rumor spread by his lackeys.

Well, that was good for Will in a way, because he was diving inside the dungeon without permission, but this situation hurt Sion’s ego.

But, still, Will didn’t give up on his dream.

He didn’t give up on his dream even after Professor Edward Selfens insulted him in front of the whole class for his inability to use magic.

Will Serfort In Peril In Wistoria Wand And Sword Episode 2

In Wistoria Wand and Sword episode 2, up till now, we learned about Will’s past and his inspiration, now is the time he proves his worth not only in the dungeon but also outside of the dungeon.

Professor Edward not being able to accept Will’s physical prowess overshadowing magical power, requested the Headmaster to expel him, however, according to the Headmaster there was no valid reason for expelling Will since except for Spellwork, he is talented in other subjects, and he could prove to be an excellent artificer or healer in future, except Magia Vende.

But, what was irritating Professor Edward was, that, Will still aims to become Magia Vende and that he can’t forgive.

The headmaster came to a solution and asked Professor Edward to test Will because Edward was the one who came very close to becoming Magia Vende and becoming known as Dark Vipermage.

Professor Edward got a free pass to make Will leave the Academy, so he challenged Will to a duel under the pretense of supplemental lessons since Will continued to lose credits in Spellwork classes.

The rule of the duel was, that Will would win if he could land one blow on Professor Edward and earn 5 credits, however, if Will couldn’t land any hit on Edward, he would lose and would have to leave the Academy.

Will desperately needed that credit to graduate, and he also couldn’t deny Professor Edward’s decision, but he also was at risk of expulsion.

This may be the greatest peril Will has faced up till now.

Will Serfort Standing Against All Odds

The most crucial part of Wistoria Wand and Sword episode 2, comes next, the battle between Professor Edward and Will.

In the meantime, the Headmaster did break the news to Professor Workner.

Now, back to the battle, Edward put restrictions on himself, by only using two spells, the attacking spell of Black Flame, Dax Darbicans, and the defensive spell Darge.

the attacking spell of Black Flame, Dax Darbicans

It seemed difficult for Will to, either escape from Edward’s attacking spells or break Edward’s impenetrable defensive spell.

Edward mentioned the Battle of Garzaronso to nearly pass out Will, pointing out how dwarves lost to a single mage, which proves magic’s superiority, so he advised Will to give up on his seemingly impossible dream, but Will didn’t give up.

Will’s determination made Edward curious, as to why Will was so resolute about becoming Magia Vende, but hearing the reason Edward was furious since Will’s reason was staying beside his beloved Elfie(Elfaria) by keeping the promise he made with her.

However, it seemed Will was far from keeping that promise since he couldn’t even defeat Professor Edward who failed to become a Magia Vende.

If at least he had his sword with him, there could be a sliver of hope, but the Academy doesn’t allow anybody to carry a sword or any weapon except a wand, so he had to store away his sword in his locker.

Kiki, his familiar was also wounded since a familiar shares their master’s pain, but Kiki didn’t give up and went on to find Will’s sword.

Fortunately, Will’s friend Colette Loire was nearby, and seeing Kiki’s wound understood that something was wrong, so she opened Will’s locker and brought his sword to him.

This time Will faced Edward properly despite his fears and managed to scratch Edward’s face after lots of struggle after breaking his defensive magic.

Hence, the battle in Wistoria Wand and Sword episode 2 concluded.

Finally

After the most critical battle ended in Wistoria Wand and Sword episode 2, Edward had no other choice but to accept Will’s victory and reward him with 5 credits in the Spellwork curriculum.

Will’s achievement made the Headmaster acknowledge his capability once again.

In the last scene, Will’s roommate Rusty in the dorm is shown, who seems to be needlessly attached to Will.

Now, what kind of person is this roommate?

What is in store for Will next?

To know the answer to these questions, stay tuned for the next episode…
