Wistoria Wand And Sword Episode 4 Review: Discrimination

Posted on August 7, 2024August 14, 2024 By swetabjya No Comments on Wistoria Wand And Sword Episode 4 Review: Discrimination

Although Will Serfort managed to overcome his weak aptitude in magic with the help of his sword skill, as shown in Wistoria Wand And Sword episode 4, he couldn’t overcome other’s discrimination against him.

He may have managed to score some credit points here and there with his monstrous strength and insane sword skill, but all was for naught when it came to his magic skill, which was his drawback, and that’s why all the discrimination was piling up against him.

Despite all that scorn he managed to keep his cool and stay driven toward his goal of becoming Magia Vende, that’s why, if one doesn’t know of his goal he/she would surely think of him as a pushover, so it was no wonder the intensity of discrimination was increasing day by day.

Amidst all that, the Spellwork exam started, but before all that Will managed to score big by completing a personal request of Albis Vina in the previous episode.

What remains to see is what transpires in Wistoria Wand And Sword episode 4.

Spellwork Exam In Wistoria Wand And Sword Episode 4

The Spellwork exam wasn’t easy at all for Will since he had no talent in it, so while facing an overwhelming difficulty he neither pulled enough score to pass the Academy exam nor had enough credits to progress to Upper Institute.

Instead, three high-ranking students were Lihanna Owenzaus, Wingnall Lindor, and Julius Reinberg.

Lihanna Owenzaus scored 10,100 credits.

Wingnall Lindor scored 10,075 credits.

Julius Reinberg scored 10,048 credits.

Will’s only friend Colette Loire scored 7,340 credits, whereas his self-proclaimed rival Sion Ulster scored 9,889 credits.

However, they aren’t the protagonist, right?

Will is the one, and he was kind of falling short in his credit, due to his weakness in Spellwork, he scored a low 5,405 credits.

Events After The Exam

Well, as expected, Will had to face the scorn of Julius who was placed among the top three of the whole Academy, after the exam which transpired in Wistoria Wand And Sword episode 4.

The only choice he had was to show his mettle at the Grand Magic Festival, this is what Colette suggested to him.

It’s an event that is held biennially at Rigarden Magical Academy, where a variety of competitions are held, and High Mages come down from the Tower Mercedes Caulis, as scouts to select prospective Upper Institute students.

In fact, this event is a silent battle between different tower factions, and probably the majority of Upper Institute advancements are decided among the winners from this event.

All four Magia Vende excluding Light Sovereign’s Wand, Masterias Noah, have their dibs among the winning students.

However, there is a flaw in this theory, if one doesn’t score enough on an Academy test, he/she may have to show some incredible magic skill in front of those scouts to get selected, so it was out of the question for Will.

The only possibility may be his being chosen by the urban-legend, like existence, Watcher, but again that’s a rumor without evidence, however, viewers already know that Watcher exists since the previous episode showed one, named Iris Churchill.

Well, Will’s inferiority complex compelled him not to participate in the Grand Magic Festival, since in his second year already he had crashed and burned.

Oh, there is a funny instance.

Will and Colette somehow found a magically hidden underground gambling den for Academy students, where they were betting on the top three students to see who would secure the top spot in the Grand Magic Festival.

And, Sion seemed to be there with a sullen mood since he isn’t being discussed as a prospective competitor.

Sion has quite a cute side to him, right?

Will Serfort And His Admiration

Since Will couldn’t get a scholarship due to his low credits, he had to work part-time to pay Academy fees, and one of his jobs was to work as a waiter in Gina’s Tavern.

A small tavern on the outskirts of Urubus Rigarden, a happy place for a race Will respect, Dwarves.

On this day, Will came to work with his roommate Rosty since there was a shortage of workers and as usual he was having a blast with his Dwarve mates while working diligently.

he was having a blast with his Dwarve mates

One of the closest Dwarves to him Mr. Donnan seemed to be worried about his well-being since he works so much.

See? You get as much goodwill from others as you respect them, right?

Mr. Donnan also seemed to think that if Will participated in the Grand Magic Festival and scored well, he could somehow change his bad condition, However, as expected, Will was not confident enough to commit to that yet.

On the other hand, Rosty seemed worried about Will since the pay at his current workplace is low, however, Will seemed to be content with his current place since he could meet with such a persistent race he admired, the Dwarves.

He admired their hard work to survive in the infertile lands, bigheartedness, skilled hands, and persistence to survive against all odds.

Facing Discrimination Of The Academy Student

Everything was going fine and dandy in Gina’s Tavern until some unexpected guests entered and it was the start of the trouble in Wistoria Wand And Sword episode 4.

The visitors were Julius Reinberg and his two lackeys.

They started with their profanity toward Dwarves upon entering the Tavern, well they had the chance since that kind of discriminatory social system was in place.

Since Dwarves were chased out of their world by Celestial Hosts just like Elves, and didn’t receive the same status as the Elves in the society they’re often looked down upon and they can’t even retaliate, since nobody would listen to their side of the story and one-sidedly convict them.

And, taking that chance Julius, continued with his ranting, however, Dwarves can’t retaliate, but that doesn’t stop Will, so he does more than that, by knocking out Julius’s two lackeys.

Julius, continued with his ranting

So, as expected a battle broke out between Will And Julius, but since Will didn’t have his sword with him, he was at a disadvantage and was soon caught by Julius.

But, Will’s rebellious eye made Jelius stop from finishing in one single blow.

Will's rebellious eye

He decided to embarrass him in the Grand Magic Festival and placed a bet, in which it was stated if Will lost in the Grand Magic Festival to Julius, he would have to leave the Academy, but if won, Will asked Julius to apologize to the Dwarves he insulted.

So, to know, what will happen next, stay tuned for the next episode...
